Soujirou is my favorite character in Rurouni Kenshin, and considering the number of awesome, likable characters in it, that's saying a lot. I stopped watching after the Shishio arc (because I couldn't imagine them topping that amount of pure win), but Soujirou's story afterwards is open to interpretation (because he arrived too late in the story line to become a recurring character...or something).

Your writing is top notch, not just in the words you use, but in your thoughts and your understanding of the different characters. Misao was naturally right on target, and the mental voice you gave her was a brilliant translation from the anime to a written medium, and you portrayed Soujirou as perfectly cheerful and polite, but incredibly dangerous.

But the thing you did best of all was the pacing. Misao may have been irritated that Soujirou was taking so long to get to his point, but it felt more natural that way. A lot of writers don't have the patience to let things happen naturally, and they leave the dialogue and character development jarring and unsatisfying. But you understood that while people change, they change slowly, and Aoshi isn't going to wake up one morning with inner peace and it's going to take time for Soujirou to find his own answers. In fact, you didn't even tell us what answer, if any, he found, so way to leave some for the sequel (please? Sequel?).

And then there's the pairing. Well, it's fan fiction, there are pairings for everything. But seriously, just by appearances, they have about the same age, size, and color scheme, and partially because of the unbalanced male to female character ratio, there aren't really any other girls he could end up with. In terms of personality, if opposites attract, then these two are golden. She's loud, bossy, and hotblooded, and he's polite, cheerful, and a bit of a doormat that you don't want to step on too hard. The best thing about this pairing, though, was again, it was well paced. They're not going to immediately fall in love with each other, especially sense they started off as strangers/enemies, but they could start to sort of kind of become friends. And that's enough.

The problem of other fans is they tend to pair the characters based on their looks and that was frustrating because Aoshi and Misao is canon.

The problem with Aoshi and Misao think that Misao wouldnt fall inlove with other guy .

But Misao ending up with Soujiro? WTF. Couldnt see that. Sorry but I dont like this. I could just see Misao waiting but not with Soujiro.

Well, at first (since it was from Misao's POV), I was thinking that Misao was kind of OOC. But later on, you proved that she's still our pretty Misao. xD
