I always love Godric/Salazar friendship stories, there are far too few that are in English, complete, and actually in the Founders Era, in fact, not many more than 15 or 20. :/ But this is great! :) Potterhead OUT! XD

Did Salazar ever learn how to swim? It find it ironic, considering his House is associated with water. Gryffindor is fire, Ravenclaw is air and huddl is earth.

So that's why the Giant Squid is in the Black Lake. Shame the kids don't go swimming in it frequently.

I don't read the Founders much, but I quite liked this piece. Godric and Salazar were amazingly IC, and the situation was great, and fit the prompts so well.

I really really enjoyed reading this! You have such lovely characterizations on the Founders, making it a really nice read. This was very unique, and I did have a feeling that the Giant Squid was going to pop into the picture.
One little mistake I saw:
This line read oddly: [there will less strain on the muscles]
Besides for that, this was a really nice story, and I loved Godric's determination and dedication in this story, also Salazar's reluctance and choosing the easier path.
It was a really lovely story, and you wrote the drowning scene especially well!

So this is all Godric's fault for refusing to admit it was a bad idea. Sigh. Still, the Giant Squid is awesome. Did he get a new one or did he bring this one over?

Yeah, ice cold water for the first swimming lesson with a reluctant student might not be the best idea Godric ever had... ;) On another note, is that the same squid that Godric later put in the Lake at Hogwarts?

This is a really good story! As always the flow of the conversation feels very natural and pretty funny too, particularly the ending.

The description of Godric almost drowning feels very realistic and frightening. That Salazar was deeply unnerved by this also comes over very well.

It's a great introduction for the giant squid.
