hap.e.daze chapter 1 . 9/10/2013 This was fun to read. I enjoyed number 5 the most. That was just hilarious ... I could see it unfolding before my eyes. I also liked #10 - and Jo's ability to use respect to get respectful behavior. Nice job! |
JENTWCSINYFAN2 chapter 1 . 6/22/2013 Nice very nice indeed all of it. Good mix of songs and ideas. |
Quille chapter 1 . 6/20/2013 OK, I have to admit, my encouragement was indeed doubtful - partly because of the idea itself, partly because I wasn't sure if, considering your way of writing, you'd be happy with a final product. I should give more credit, both you and the idea... I actually like it very much! It was kinda like a stained glass window - small pieces, coloured in dark and light colours. They might not seem to fit each other, making the border rather visible, as you skipped from one mood to another (well, that was the point, I'm not saying it as a accusation), but together it actually created something - I got this overwhelming feeling that Jo Danville indeed, as you said yourself once in some review, hide awfully a lot inside herself. I won't comment on every single one. I liked some better than others, obviously. Actually I think I liked those sad ones better... But this one: 7) "She" – Norah Jones... Oh my, this one was perfect. Part of me can't believe that you managed to create such a beautiful piece within the length of the song. But yeah... some thoughts are with us almost always, lingering just beneath the surface so it doesn't take much, either effort or time, for them to show up. Especially this part got me: "Her entire living universe, represented by the muted, multi-colored flower petals of a multitude of funerary arrangements. She'd never felt so alone." And then you managed to turned it over with only one world spoken by Ellie. That was so perfect. Being a child and a mother, both at the same time. And then being "only" a mother, which itself means so much... I'm glad you did this challenge, I promise that if you decide to do another one my encouragement will be less doubtful ;) |
sass box chapter 1 . 6/20/2013 I'm so glad you entered the challenge, because this is fantastic! You captured a wide spectrum of emotions, from tears to happiness, to pride. I'm not a Jo fan, but this is lovely. |
1917farmgirl chapter 1 . 6/19/2013 Okay, I'm very much in awe here. These were ALL so good. To think that you wrote these, so quickly and randomly, and they turned out so beautifully? Very, very impressed. As far as getting inside Jo's head, I don't think I can pick a favorite. They were all so different and insightful. And SO beautifully written. The use of words and language again is amazing. I would never know they were written quickly if I didn't know the challenge behind it. BUT, as far as scenes go, I found I did have a favorite. I loved the one of the team scrambling around on the floor, trying to help Adam pick up his papers. One of the things that draws me to this show is that team/family relationship. I love it, and you showed that so nicely. (Have to say I did like the other Adam one as well...though part of me has a hard time not being jealous of Michelle...does that make me petty? LOL.) Thanks for sharing! You are amazing. |
mbnola chapter 1 . 6/19/2013 Loved the glimpse into your iPod as well as your perfect capturing of Jo. I can't pick a favorite as I enjoyed them all! Well done, glad you were up to the challenge! |
smuffly chapter 1 . 6/19/2013 As I read through these amazing ficlets, I tried to pick a favourite. And, at first, I thought to myself that it was going to be number 6 - Florence and the Machine. I loved the way that you moved from reflection to unease and then to humour - the ending was so effective! And then I hit number 9. Which I absolutely adored. If I had ANYthing at all to do with your decision to take part in this challenge then I am delighted because I am so glad that you did. And you're right - it doesn't matter that I still haven't been able to watch season 9 (aargh!). I still followed and enjoyed each and every one of these moments. So very Jo. Well done! |
tvobessedWHAT chapter 1 . 6/19/2013 Love this, it's sweet and so Jo. i MISS THE SHOW, *SILENT TEAR* |
The account is deleted chapter 1 . 6/19/2013 Very nice - you've got a very special gift looking into the mind of Jo Danville. Well done! |
BrokePerception chapter 1 . 6/19/2013 I very much enjoyed reading this little story. I must say that it is an interesting challenge, and I'm glad that others have encouraged you enough to enter into it. Despite this being unlike your usual, you still made a great piece of it. Well done! |
