| Glenstorm63 chapter 6 . 6/2/2018 You know, despite the fact you have added a non-canon character, Serena, I really like your story. It is very very charming and most of the archaic manners of speaking work really well. I want to keep reading more and have now got to the end of chapter 3. A few things that jar however... Gotten is an Americanism. So is became common parlance in England until much later, if indeed they are even now. May I suggest 'become' and 'became' instead of gotten and 'alright/ well/ good/ sorted' instead of ok, for example. The other thing is that the punctuation is a little all over the place. There are even full stops missing between sentences, not to mention commas and semi-colons. It might be worth finding someone to trawl through your mayerial and to edit it for or with you before you repost it. I really think it would add so much to the enjoyment of the reading experience. I am so feeling for their mother, whom they seem to be really disregarding in many ways. |
