Ch 2 is just a repeat of Ch 1. What's a "hyperlight jump"? Alien tech is mentioned so I thought hyper drive? Little context to establish the story and is confusing.

like the start, get more out soon, at least this time around the cylons and collonials aren't going to war

I'd like to like it but the whole first contact was handled extremely poorly overall, an author should never simply Tell his readers but Show them, small briefs of information can be handed out here and there, yes, but to Show is so much more satisfying than merely reading a summary of events.

Looks like a good start. I never played the game Homeworld.

Nice to read a first contact story that didn't have the Colonies flying off the handle and going to war because what existed in the galaxy didn't match their beliefs. Still it looks like there was rioting and other forms of civil unrest that followed this encounter, but it looks like these Twelve Colonies gained from their contact. Wonder how it will affect the outcome of the opening engagement of the Second Cylon War in their timeline.

Theres a Japanese proverb that can fit in well with this situation. "The frog in the well knows nothing of the great ocean."

I think I'll be looking out for this.

BTW, the way Bentusi are connected to their ships are very similar to Cylon hybirds.

very good beginning for the story, i suspect that the cylons will get a nasty surprise if they attack, and with thousands of human and alien civilizations ,they will be crushed.
