I cannot believe that he would sleep with his mistress again, but I'm guessing he did. Now, I have to wonder who it is as it seems many of Draco's usual friends are in relationships already. Unless it's Astoria who hasn't been mentioned, yet, but she's even younger than Draco. Or, I can't remember if Tracy or Millicent have been mentioned. I should go reread or else move on and see for myself if it's revealed. Maybe the mistress killed him for rebuffing her advances (fat chance) or simply for trying to force her to leave. OR maybe she is one of them involved in a relationship and the boyfriend is the one. Perhaps it's Pansy and Harry is the perpetrator. That would be a twist. Hmmm.

Cheating is not a sodding mistake. It happens in full consciousness, and can never be defined with 'It is just sex.' And the fact that Lucius Malfoy regrets his wife finding out about his illegitimate affair and not the fact that he had an extra marital affair with a witch younger than his son, is crystal clear. Once a cheat, always a cheat. I would have given him a tight slap on the face and a knee where the sun doesn't shine, but I admired Narcissa's spirit and tact and the fact that she loves her son so much that she would be willing to stay in a marriage with a serial cheater, just so that there is no complications in his life.

Oh man now I feel guilty for loving Tangled Web. Though Bellatrix doesn't really love Lucius, he is cheating on her with her sister just like he did in this one. Oh well what can one do?

Bainbridge reminds me so much of Hercule Poirot. Also I like his weariness with Harry and Ron.

Lucius cheating, it wasn't a mistake. Cheating is NEVER a mistake. If he truly loved Narcissa, he wouldn't have been able to kiss Bella or Ginny without tasting her tears staining his lips. He wouldn't have been able to take his clothes of without feeling like a patch of grass shredded bare to it's soil. Cheating is a CHOICE, it's a choice he made because he obviously didn't give a single F*** about his relationship with his wife. The first time with Bella, maybe, the rest, not so much.

Another impressive story so well crafted. Love the characters of Blaisa, Draco and Hermione.
