I love the part in which he attempts to build a cupboard. It's just amusing yet nostalgic that an eccentric alien time traveller like him was struggling over the simplest of feats as compared to his other dangerous adventures.

In that simple excerpt you had masterfully proven how much River means to him. The meaning was deep: Even after death, she haunts him.

And although, Moffat proved just that in the season finale, I wish you were there by him in the making of the episodes prior to that.

I want to go back in time and make this canon.

Lastly, I've always wanted Anthony to meet the Doctor. And you gave that to me.

This is an incredibly wonderful story, I enjoyed reading it very much. I think it shows that even though it wasn't on screen, the Doctor did spend quite a lot of time mourning River, and it shows how much he truly loved her. Very good job!

"Clara stifled a laugh. Then she sat down and built the cabinet." – That's hilarious.

"I hate it when you female humans gain weight. Somehow it always ends up my fault." – Even more hilarious.

"River has her own memorials, out there in the universe. This was the one place she could be Melody." – That was brilliant. The whole scene, actually, but particularly that.

Clara blinked. "Yes, you're asexual?" – That bit made me laugh.

Yeah, so I really liked this fic. It was adorable and sad and heartwarming and beautiful and hilarious and snarky and fun. Amazing work. :)

Good start, how does one interpret the end "the woman he had loved too much to let die" is that reffering to river or is it clara (could be seen both ways).
