Heartbreaking. That last phrase, about an empty future, when he was moments before telling Anakin that "good will always triumph, even for those who have lost all hope." I got the feeling that he wasn't just referring to Anakin with the "lost all hope" part, and that's just...that strikes deep.

Really nice... as a matter of fact, ObiWan had to make a choice in RotS: jumping down on the riverbank and killing Vader( while risking to be intercepted by Sidious ), or running away with Padmé and the Droids. It always irked me a little bit that ObiWan had no time for the coup de grace, but obviously enough time to voice his disappointment over his pupils failure( almost a bit self- righteous, eh...? ). In your version it gave even room for reconciliation.
