Arienhod chapter 27 . 10/2/2013 Well crap, the heartbreaking ending of such an amazing friendship. It was nice of John to offer Vera a place to stay (I'm guessing that's what the key was for) but he probably should have expected such a reaction. After all it's Vera, the tough chick who refuses help most of the time and blames him for the medical leave. I will definitely read Doom when you start editing it, I'm curious what you'll do with it. |
Arienhod chapter 26 . 10/2/2013 I like Goat, he's such a great character and I hated it when he was killed in the movie. It's so sweet that he's trying to nudge John and Vera in the right direction without outright saying anything. He's not your usual matchmaker which makes everything cooler. |
KennaWynters chapter 27 . 10/2/2013 Damn it that was a mean way to end! Though I find myself curious as to what the Key in the case was for? I can't wait to see what you do with the movie events. |
Arienhod chapter 25 . 10/1/2013 I could have sworn that first part wasn't there when I first read the chapter. It wasn't until I read the note on the end that I was certain I wasn't crazy and forgot what I did and didn't read. I'm also glad I didn't reviewed right away; don't worry, I didn't forget, I just had so much to do I simply didn't have the time. John's decision was tough, but when you care for someone their well-being comes before anything else. It was pretty brave of him to go in that room and face Vera on his own, it would be much easier to just let Sarge do it. But he knows the consequences of his decision and the impact it would have on Vera and it was a decent thing from him to do. Vera's anger was expected and understandable. She feels betrayed, no doubt about that. The corps is all she has and she spent years getting to the position where she is now. And if she doesn't have that, then what's left? The fact that it was John and not one of the doctors from the infirmary that signed the eval probably hurt more then the broken rib. I have a few friends coming over tonight, I think I can get them to watch Doom with me :D But sadly Vera isn't in it. |
KennaWynters chapter 25 . 9/30/2013 Oh no! Poor Vera her life is seriously up shit creek thank to that ass Portman and it seriously ain't right. The only possible silver lining I see is that it opens up the possibility for our two favourite stubborn ass marines to finally acknowledge and do something about their feelings? I'm probably rambling and for that I apologize and I look forward to seeing what happens next. |
GingaR123 chapter 25 . 9/29/2013 Are you going to make another story after the movie? |
Arienhod chapter 24 . 9/29/2013 Portman being an asshole is one of those universal things that will never, ever change. Vera snapping his neck would probably get her court marshaled but the rest of the unit would most likely came up with a medal especially for her as a thanks for taking care of the pest. John coming to the rescue is adorable. Until one remembers he would report her to Sarge and she'll flip. But that ought to be fun to read too :D |
Arienhod chapter 23 . 9/25/2013 Portman is an ass. I expect from him to make rude jokes and yet every time it annoys the hell out of me. It's a shame that he isn't real and because of that I can't hit him. Goat is playing matchmaker in a most unusual way ever. But it seems to have partially worked if he managed to force John to admit he fell in love with Vera. To himself at least. I so can't wait to see how this whole thing ends for the two of them! |
Arienhod chapter 22 . 9/22/2013 Vera being a good patient and not giving John any troubles? Yeah, no one would ever believe that. I liked the ending. It was cute. John is seriously struggling with his new found feelings and it's rather fun to read. |
Arienhod chapter 21 . 9/21/2013 I always wondered if John was the medic that got to her first in Somalia. Glad so see it confirmed. Hell should break loose in the next one when Vera finds out about 6 months medical leave, right? |
WMaldonado89 chapter 21 . 9/21/2013 All damn Reaper just shot her up with a relaxer... What great bedside manner! -_-' Well finally Vera figured out that it was john that saved her the first time. |
Arienhod chapter 20 . 9/20/2013 Wow, when I first read your Doom story I didn't imagine Vera getting shot after a mission like this one. It was awesome! I'm not sure what else to write. I already commented on the amazing Russian translation in my last review and in this chapter you once more proven that taking your time and translating the conversation is far more impressive then just having your readers imagine it's in a foreign language. And there it was: Sarge ordering John not to expose himself to the sniper and John ignoring the order and doing so just to save Vera. It's obvious John is taking the 'no man left behind' rule seriously. I'm looking forward to the next chapter! |
WMaldonado89 chapter 20 . 9/19/2013 Liked this chapter, now let's just see if Reaper keeps being a pu**y about his feelings.. Anyway can I ask a big favor next time you have another language can you just put the translation in ( ) so that I don't have to skip everything and read the bottom. Kind of kills the mood. Thanks! Can't wait for the next one. |
Arienhod chapter 19 . 9/16/2013 Awesome! I managed to understand few Russian words due to a fact Croatian isn't all that different. You did a great job with the translating, some would just write it in italic and have the reader imagine it's Russian. Not nearly as cool. I liked Sasha as a character. She gives Vera's past a more happier note. Duke's reaction when the radiation was mentioned was hilarious. I could actually hear his voice in my head. And as it should be Portman got exactly what he deserved. Great chapter all together, even if you did kill one of the good characters in it. |
KennaWynters chapter 18 . 9/10/2013 Bloody Portman seriously can we kill him yet? -Gives big old puppy dog eyes- I mean seriously he is like a huge ass waste of space. -coughs- Anyways another awesome chapter keep up the great work and I can't wait to see what happens in Russia. |
