This is the type of story I'd tried to find a decade ago: full book length, where the characters are in-character and develop in a way that makes sense; a sprinkle of romance, and actually complete. That's a very rare combination in fan fiction, especially in this fandom. This is in my top ten favorites on this site, now, out of the literally hundreds of stories that I've read over the years.

Only a few grammar issues (misspellings, mainly) could stand to be fixed, but otherwise, this was wonderful.

If the author ever sees this, thank you.

Please make a sequel!

l loved and enjoyed this story as well as the movie. Sir Aaron's Lucario is my absolute favourite fighting/steel type Pokemon. l wish he's being mentioned more. l cried when Lucario sacrificed his life to be with his master. Please write a sequel to this story...

I just read the official Pokemon Movie Companion book(I didn't buy it sadly) in Barnes and Nobles today that it is confirmed that Ash is indeed the one released Lucario from the staff. It confirmed that our theories that Ash's Aura power has somehow released Lucario from Sir Aaron's staff. So Lucario didn't escape the staff all by himself.

You're right. It does hurt to see Ash's sad feelings about his guilt for fighting with Lucario that night. My heart is sinking for both Ash and Lucario. Next time when you see the movie, imagine in your head that Ash is in your bedroom and tell him to not be sad about what he has done to Lucario because crying won't help make everything right(even though it's OK to cry). You have done a great job on this story. Keep up the good work.

I loved this movie, and I loved the novelized version, so thanks for writing it. One thing to say: I FLIPPING CRIED. But that's just how to story goes, so I'm fine with it. But you wrote it so well...Good job.
