Did you get inspiration for this from Batman: Under the Red Hood? The opening scenes were extremely similar but you wrote it out so well. :)

Such a good story! I really loved it! I really wish there had been a little more to the end where Dick wakes up and there was some kind of interaction between him and Bruce. But other than that I thoroughly enjoyed this! Well done!

Oh my goodness what a powerful story! Just a heads-up I just finished a massive Black Friar binge and I fear that I will now be stalking all of your stories because they are all so. damn. good.

I read Cataclysm first and then could not handle myself at all so when I saw this one I latched onto it and let me tell you I'm so glad you posted this alternate ending as well because otherwise I think I would have been inconsolable for hours. Ugh, let me start by gushing about how much I ADORE your writing style. Not many people write in the present tense-for myself I find it really difficult to balance the present tense with necessary story techniques like paraphrase and summary-but you paint with and deploy it with the effortless grace of a master. The present tense really hits much harder emotionally than the past tense because as Dick struggles or hurts I FEEL it-it's incredible. And then, to add to this already intense construction and backbone, you add little descriptions and moments that blow me away in how they can encapsulate something so accurately in so few words. For example, when you switch to Bruce's POV and he says "and Bruce knows Dick would rebuke him for it, because Dick, in all his lovingness, doesn't have children, so Dick doesn't know" I just had to stop and let out a massive sigh because that sentence managed to capture both Bruce and Dick so perfectly it struck a chord.

And alright I can keep gushing for days on end, but my friend the gist of it is: you are incredible.

This hurt me. On so many levels this hurt me. In a good way. That was a pretty powerful piece of writing. The pain of Robin's perspective followed by Batman's anguish and then Batgirl's concern were all so well done and we got a wonderful look at Bruce through Alfred's eyes at the end. Wonderful stuff.

Although I am surprised that this doesn't have more reviews, it definitely deserves them!

That was *sniff* really beautiful. Especially the ending. I do think that if it had been dicky who went through this instead of jason dicky would survive. Jason died because the writers put it to a vote and jason wasn't popular so people voted for his death. Dicky was extrememly populatr as robin due to his awesomeness. No one would have killed him. Fun trivia is fun!
