This was beautiful! I watched Firefly back in 2012, but reading your story, it's like I watched the show yesterday - it was so easy to fall back into it, thanks to the way you wrote this. You took a unique idea and turned it into an amazing story that had a happy ending for everyone. Thanks for the best half hour of my day, and for writing and sharing this.

This is really sweet. What a shiny 'Verse that would have been. No Big Damn Hero moments of desperate battles against the government, but still plenty of trouble to be had. Just a lot less of it without the Tams.

And now they can have the Tams as well, without all the hunting and Hands of Blue. Thanks for writing this; it's enough to brighten a day.

i am terribly, horribly in lvoe with this story. it's exactly what i would have hoped for, and i love how River is the same but different all at once. We get to meet her all over again, and it's lovely.

I'm way late to the Firefly fanfiction world, but wow, what an original idea for a love story this was, and superbly written - I just loved it..

I just loved this to bits. Very beautifully crafted and put together and you created a very believable alternative 'verse in which Mal journeys to find River and warn her about the Academy. I just love how River creates a time machine to get Mal back to his 'verse and they then meet up later as the two verses come together into one and a perfect happy ending. That Mal did all that for her melts my heart in a big way. You should see the pile of goo. That River could learn enough and love enough to send him back is just wonderful.

And that they're still together, there at the end, is fantastic. And Zoe and Wash'll have a baby. :)

I really enjoyed this story and this take on Mal and River's relationship. I liked seeing what River would be like if she didn't go to the Academy.

I really enjoyed this one shot. Is there any chance you can write a POV on the side of Mal when he sees her in the market. Shoot, any chance of making this an extended fic and we get to see her and Simon interacting with the crew again. I think there's room here for a great multi-chapter, a short one but a great one. I really enjoyed the one shot and want to read more.
