This is really well-done, and a great continuation from Cesare's "brotherly" duel with Alphonso in 3x09; one of my favorite lines in the third season is "Rumor has it there are three in this marriage, not two!" I think you captured the fallout from that moment really well here. And I love how Cesare's arrogance infuriates even Lucrezia; you've really conveyed how his tendency to keep her physically close to him has evolved from his tenderness in seasons 1 and 2 to something more like manhandling in season 3. The callback to the forest witch is excellent. Thanks for sharing this!

Great dialogue! It's very in keeping with the style and tone of the show, and full of the big, scary emotions that go unremarked in modern speech. Really beautifully written :)

My love, as long as you post those lovely vignettes, I'll review them. I do love how you put Lucrezia in a position of power with Alfonso with the neck-grabbing. People like to grab her neck it seems, so it seems appropriate. I think I would respect Alfonso more, if he would confront Lucrezia like he does here, and not be so passive-agressive.
What struck me most about this is how well you captured the incest aspect of it all, how his lips taste so much like her own, and how that does and does not make her uncomfortable sometimes. It made a bit uncomfortable too, in a good way.

I think it's perfect how you describe Lucrezia's love for Alfonso as the love one has for a puppy or a doll, it really hits it right on the mark.
