This was a very interesting fic; a good length and a nice, smooth read.
I really enjoyed your mention for his brother's funeral and the sort of disconnected emptiness he remembered it with. Some of Alice's strands of thought were just amazingly spot on and you descriptions of her were effortlessly perfect. Though, I do feel that you may have lost her characterization a little towards the end, with the questions she was asking him, it just didn't quite fit.
Overall, a wonderfully structured and quality fic; thanks for posting :)
