This is really awesome; beautiful, well-written, a terrific meditation on Rodrigo's character. He's not my favorite character on the show, but your story sheds a lot of light on him, I think. And this line just took my breath away: "God has created Adam in his own image. Rodrigo has always taken this to mean that God must have loved Adam. Now he is no longer sure."

Wow... this is deep and incredible. I LOVE how Rodrigo see's Cesare. And honestly the idea that Cesare fills him with fear not due to his (Cesare's) ambition but more due to what it means if Cesare is his reflextion. That is a resonant thing that would strike fear into any parent frankly cause you can't see the beauty of Cesare Borgia without taking note of how terrifying he is. The two sides sort of define each other. And omg I love that Rodrigo is afraid of what it means if he doesn't believe in God, and I honestly adore that Savonarola is in hell. For realz. Basically i love the whole thing. You're amazing, your insights are spot on and I think you should write the film for Neil Jordan, do the family justice and send it to Showtime, informing them that they don't need Papa Jordan and the fans can damned well come up with their own shit. The fans are taking over like Il Valentino!
