I love reading fanfics that have Bilbo get along so wonderfully with Thorin's sassy and awesome younger sister Dis. Bilbo all but admits he likes Thorin in that "He's my favorite hottie" way as he mentions how he helps Thorin with the day-to-day duties in Erebor to Dis.

Dis knows the Heirs of Durin's tastes all too well, especially when it involves their love for Ones who have blond hair since some shades of blond hair also remind the Heirs of Durin of gold, and she also knows Thorin and their brother Frerin all too well. Their grandfather Thror's wife and their dad Thrain's wife were both blondes. Dis's husband was a blond. Frerin was a blond. Fili is a blond. And in this fanfic Bilbo is a blond.

Dis's use of the feminine spelling blonde is also used to describe men who have blond hair and in medieval times it was common to refer to a light-haired person as a blonde regardless of gender.

If a sequel is meant to be, and this is up to the Muses, I would love to see Dis in the informal role of matchmaker. And Thorin is in for a lot of needling from Dis too since she's also one of the few who can call out Thorin on his bad behavior and not get banished for doing so.

XD XD Dis and Bilbo's conversations are always so funny and this is not no exception. Very nice :)

Blonde is the feminine use. A fair haired male is blond. Sorry, it was bugging me.
