The fact that it wasn't a life-threatening situation is so important because she's got no excuse and she knows it. She simply wants that connection. Your recognition of it and the slow build of her hope/strength make this fic work so, so well.

This was wonderfully sweet. Holding hands is both so innocent and so intimate - which is very much where their relationship was at at that point. It's fun to imagine when they might hold hands now that they're in an established relationship and they have a multitude of other physical contact options at their disposal.

If you made this a multichap you would have many avid readers; I hope you've written more FICs cause ima go look now :3 x
