Guest chapter 8 . 12/1/2018 Epilogue: Merlin's death is hard on all occupants of the castle who are unaware of what truly transpired. The king goes through stages of grief and falls into a crippling depression after the second time his heart is broken in such a way. It gets progressively worse as the king's health deteriorates in the following months eventually leading to a quiet death in his bedchambers. He's found in the morning, still hugging the possessions that reminded him of his beloved consort the most. Arthur, who has been ruling the kingdom in all but name for the past few weeks, takes the time to grieve for the man he used to know as his father, and for the broken man he had turned into. A few days after the coronation, once the kingdom is set on track, the new king announces a spiritual quest he must complete alone. Not a week later, he returns with Merlin. The ban on magic is announced void in the first public announcement since this miraculous return, for it must be benevolent magic that reunited those two after a year of suffering. Therefore, magic cannot be evil. After years of hard work, tears, and laughter, Albion is thriving and magic is as natural a phenomenon on the streets as it is in those born with the gift. Dragons fill the skies once more, and the very air sings in harmony with all that lives on this land. Arthur and Merlin proudly watch over their kingdom from Avalon long after their time in the mortal realm has ended. Sorry, I had to after reading your story. It was very inspirational xD |

Guest chapter 8 . 6/1/2018 I'd love to read about their life in Ealdor, perhaps with Arthur being a "farmer". Then Uther's death and the two young men becoming king and his consort. |
