One editing note you may want to consider. When writing dialogue it's usually good to separate the different speakers into a new paragraph. It helps the flow so people aren't thinking the two lines are being said by the same person.
Such as:
Freya shook her head. "No, as brave...and as stupid as it was, you were doing your job, protecting your king."

Merlin beamed at this, and sighed fondly after a few beats. "The prat doesn't know how to look out for himself, no matter how he says he does."

So, so, so cute! I love it! This really was adorable; both Arthur's concern for Merlin, and Merlin and Freya being together. :3
