Wow. Fascinating story, it was heatbreaking but I really love it all the same. Despite ending on a bit of upnote, the story maintains it's sombre tint. What you've done to Jack's character is intuitive and despite being dark in nature; it give the reader hope. Because at least Jack is still around! Thank you for writing this, great fic!

This is so beautiful, in a sad sort of way. Sure, Joyce won - but at what cost? Anyone who has read Hunger Games would know that victory comes at a high cost, usually mental stability. Joyce will most definitely be haunted by nightmares for the rest of her lives. The only upside to it is that Jack Frost will (hopefully) be able to comfort her.

I love the fact that you made them have a snowball fight, much like how it was in the movie. Even if it did end up becoming a bloodbath in the end, at least there were a few precious moments of childhood innocence before the cruelty of Hunger Games tore it apart.

It was already sad enough in the original movie that Jack Frost wasn't believed in (until Jamie happened, that is), but in the bleak world of Panem where everyone is just struggling to survive really hits it even harder. I can totally see how the other Guardians disappeared because no one believed in them anymore - how could they, given the circumstances? In the end, it's the Guardian that wasn't believed in that survived, but it's sad how he survived - off the pain of the others, when he should have been the one bringing fun and joy to others.

I also love the little details you have in there, from the fact that President Snow didn't believe in Jack Frost (I'll honestly be more surprised if he did, considering that no one else does), and even how easily Julian was replaced, echoing Seneca Crane. Your writing style is beautiful as well. This is just a beautiful fic! I'm so glad I took the time out to read this. :)
