I like where this was headed but I think this is more of a start to a bigger story rather than a story in and of itself.

I know you consider this complete, and it does stand on its own, but I'd love to see another chapter or two.

Very nice insight here. One thing I hate about the epilogue is how the lives of our heroes ended up so boring, mundane. Pottermore's revelations made it even worse. The most brilliant witch, spending a decade to get house elf reforms passed? Not only is it obvios that the majority of the Wizengamot is very much in favor of keeping slavery, even after Voldemort's defeat, it is niot what I'd expect of Hermione.

Great start, wat does he decide to do, please come back and finish this.

Thank you for showing how Rowling forced Crapalogue down out throats, depriving the main characters of the chance to change the world in favor of having 'normal' lives.

I really liked this, but I can't believe you left me hanging like that! Still, wonderful story.

Not bad, definitely not one of your best. Hermione, while obviously trying to come to grips with some existential issues, seems too harsh at the beginning. You've captured the Existential Angst that the "normal adult life" brings pretty well. I doubt any of Rowling's characters would be able to deal with it very well. The ending, and how you got there, would serve as a good launching off point for additional chapters to see what the outcome of this type of character-driven self examination would be.

I LOVE it that Hermione has an armchair that is hers (or considered hers) in Harry's home.
"he was caught surprise by her words" - "caught by surprise".

oh my, this is very well written. I love how thought provoking Hermione can be and her arguments are very well spoken, though I do wonder about Harry's point, why was Hermione against normal now when just a week or so ago she was all for one big happy Weasley family? Honestly, this looks like the premise to a longer, rather soul searching story leading up to Harry and Hermione reaching their full potential and changing the world, completely blowing all expectations out of the water as they become something more amazing than anyone could have imagined
