The dream world is unbelievably creepy; I really got tense as Sam tried to find Dean in that empty, terrible place. To realize he was already covered in those clinging plants made me shudder!

Oh Amber, this is such a beautiful story, I totally enjoyed it from the very first to the last line! Loved the way you wrote it, in an slightly distant matter of fact style, just like when you're dreaming - you never ask why anything weird happens, it's just as it is - and you're part of it. Perfect start - Dean waking up to that Purgatory-like place where everything seems apocalyptic. Loved the detail about him thinking to stop by the Grand Canyon, but not wanting to see it without Sammy - ending in Starvation, of all places - and the reminder of Famine :-) Then these creepy creepers - following him - and the atmosphere you're describing, it was like being in his dream - hearing his thought...

I loved so many of your lines, like these: "He isn't really sure when he stopped, just that he has. His legs have ceased moving because what's the fucking point? How can he fight nothing?
In Hell he had never been alone and had thought then that he would have killed for a moment's peace. He'd craved solitude almost more than he'd wished for an end to the torment."

And these, of course: "In Purgatory there had always been hope. Hope that he'd escape, hope that Sam was out there, somewhere, looking for him. And there had been Benny. Standing shoulder to shoulder with him, living up to the epithet of brother that Benny always called him. Vampire or no, Benny had meant it." Benny! I hope they're going to bring him back!

The end of that first part is incredibly sad - all his hope of Sammy looking for him gone, as well as any will to fight :-(

Then your Sammy part - and this was just as awesome as the first part, and wow, the scene when Sam finds Dean and is tempted to take a picture - so innocent in the eye of disaster and terror? That was wonderful, my dear!

My heart was aching when Sam deciphered the look on Dean's face - and the panic that's rising in him.
"His inner librarian is upset by this sight, while the hunter in him goes onto full alert." Hehe, that got me chuckling :-) And what a great plot you've been unfolding, with that single leave and Morpheus, Shaper of Dreams - a total thrill!

Yay to Charlie being part of it and giving him a helpful hint and Sam's idea with the blood and again: Kudos to style and special voice of that story, it fits perfectly well to the dream.

Oh God, these creepers growing into Dean, almost like a weird form of crucifixion or a parasite feeding of him - that gave me the shivers.

And finally Sam is not only doing the right thing, he's also admitting to himself how badly he betrayed his brother when he was in Purgatory. That was balm to my soul, I haven't forgiven him yet. (Haven't seen the last two episodes, perhaps there will be an explanation? Because that's just not the way Winchesters act!).

So this time he brought him back, with all his heart and soul (and yeah, lips involved - okay, I can live with that ;-) Neat end to a perfect story – and I hope that it will get more readers and reviews, because it seriously deserves them.

This is an awesomely written fic. I particularly liked the incorporation of the changes that we are seeing in the current Season. I also appreciated the descriptions as they made it easy to picture the world you created. Well done.
