Your Angel characterization is dead on, a rarity in itself, and combined with other characters...

The most wonderful thing about your series, though, is the extremely rare situation - in this fandom as well as in many others - that no one of the characters is vilified. Usually, if a fic author tries to, er, mate Angel with Buffy, they portray Cordelia as a bad person, and vice versa. If they want Buffy to be with Spike then Angel is bad, and so on. In the Harry Potter fandom where I am from, I almost never saw a Harry & Draco-oriented story (or Hermione/Draco, for that matter) where Ron wasn't a moron, and that fandom is much bigger.

I don't understand why it happens, why fic authors can't bear the thought of their favorite character choosing between two good people and make one of them bad instead (well, I think I do, but it's long and not really the point). The more is my joy about your series where - just like in the Jossverse - there aren't any bad people but conflicts arise just the same and help the characters grow up and become stronger.
