Dragon de la Muerte chapter 1 . 4/22/2016 That's sad. I don't really know what the whole Vandal Savage reference was for . But it was a good story. |
Drak Azarathian chapter 1 . 3/31/2016 I've been thinking a lot about immortality nowadays, what with scientists buzzing all about it. And I have decided that it isn't all that wonderful at all, watching the ones you love die one-by-one, knowing that you will never die and suffer all of eternity.(*sniff*)Anyway, you captured it all perfectly.I could imagine it writing, you have got a flair for it. |
Tranquil Zebra chapter 1 . 3/5/2016 Damn, that drove me closer to tears than some deaths in the family ever did. A bit of a downer, of course, but very much what could happen if all the people Raven ever loved wasted away. Many people would likely live happily forever, but Raven has a more difficult time of forging meaningful relationships. Her never truly letting go seems completely in character, and this is what I would hope an older, more mature Raven would be like at the deathbed of her daughter/little sister. The rest of the Titans might have been friends, colleagues, rivals, comrades and even lovers, but Melvin, Timmy and Teether were her children in all but blood, and no parent should ever have to bury their child. In one way, to compare to The Highlander, being sterile could be a curse and a blessing. Children could be adopted either way, but knowing you would bring someone into the world, only to watch them wither away, would bring pain and misery already at birth. I'm also inferring, from Raven's childless state, that she is, in a sense, a mule. No reason for Trigon to ensure her fertility when she was fated to die at 16 anyway, not to mention the fact that Trigon was a miserable bastard on the best of days. Anyways, a superb and touching one shot, although I admit relief at this not being part of a series, as my heart could scarcely handle the misery. Favourite'd and fondly remembered. |
Dixxy chapter 1 . 5/7/2015 Emotion(s)... how lovable... how crucial...how indisputably fundamental ! And naturally sadness is a truly beautiful emotion, despite the hurt ans bitterness it causes. There is dignity and depth in it, no matter how much we hate it. So, this fiction is moving. Really moving. It is a swansong of sort (like you put it in the summary : "for what may be the last time"). But it was expected : i've lauded several times your talent at emotion depiction. Guess that for a man your age, it only seems too logical : maturity, experience, y'know. (Same goes for me and my 37, eh eh !) Raven's distress at dreading the disappearance of her last remaining friend is touching, incredibly touching. One has to feel so damn sorry for her. And as happens in the case of amazingly credible depiction of feelings & emotions, one feels so close to the character and so badly would like to comfort that character, to ease up the upset, the pain, the despair... And Melvin's constant reassuring Raven... wasn't that most sweet and moving just as much ? But ain't it the way it worxxxx in friendship, deep, strong friendship ? Friends will always be there for you, even in the worst case scenarios (i don't write friends 'real friends' or 'true friends', coz it actually doesn't exist : there are no 'real friends' and 'false/fake friends'... people are either friends, or are not, period !) And Friendship, like Love, is one of the most amazing human bonds ever. I was intrigued by that VELVETEEN RABBIT. Do i take, from the way you mention it, that you read it and that book had a great importance for you ? Or did i misunderstand there ? Anyway, you kinda triggered my interest and made me want to read it : i just read a quick summary of the plot, and... it sounds really fascinating ! All in all, one more emotional gem of yours. And therefore, one more favorites. How d'ya do it, Con ? Thanxxxx a lot for this short yet touching one-shot ! Ya know how to make the sensitive ropes of my heart vibrate, Buddy ! Oh, one last thing, that may seem a tad off topic : i reviewed and favorite your sequel to I CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT HER yesterday... yet that story wasn't in my favorites afterwards, and my review doesn't show among yr reviews. I think i may accidentally written it when not logged in, meaning it will be considered a 'guest review' and not appear with the other feedbacks until you have moderated it in your REVIEWS sections of yr profile home page. Can you please check if you received my feedback as a guest review and moderate it ? I really hope you got it somehow, coz i hate the idea of having to re-type such a long bunch ! Thanxxxx for yr reply abt this as well ! Take care and be fine, Mate ! |
creativesm75 chapter 1 . 3/8/2015 nice. |
Paradox.Peddler chapter 1 . 3/3/2015 That was interesting to see the dynamic of caretaker sort of do a reversal with the two. I liked it. |
al chapter 1 . 12/8/2014 very great story i really like. I do think this would be something raven would have to go through if she does live longer than her family due to being part demon. Very great insights to all that happened. I like roy and raven together as well :) |
i just rlly hated my old url chapter 1 . 9/26/2014 This was so sad! Great job |
HunterMoore chapter 1 . 8/21/2014 Well that was sad. Which I guess was what you were going for,so awesome work, you made me feel sad. Congratulations on the amazing story that depressed me. |
RavenSerendipity chapter 1 . 8/16/2014 You made a huge lump appear in my throat. I think I almost cried and I'm the type that tries to not let ANYTHING make me cry. It was really good and something that I see happening due to ravens demonic parentage. Cambions do tend to age at 1/4 the normal rate, even at 1/8. |
Alec33 chapter 1 . 5/2/2014 Really sad but good story. Is Ethbert your own creation or is he a legit character? |
TeenTitansFanForever02 chapter 1 . 5/2/2014 Aww. This was awesome. I feel bad for Rae though. Wait, when did she become immortal? Anyway, this was great. |
Guest chapter 1 . 1/8/2014 man now you got me all teary eyed |
TheForceIsStrongWithThisOne chapter 1 . 10/13/2013 Nice work, I too have wondered what life would be like for Raven if she didn't age. Raven and Roy (Harper I presume?). Hmmm ... I guess it could work, though Jade might have something to say about that. I also don't like Roy in the New 52, in Red Hood and the Outlaws. Then again there is very little I like in the New 52, especially not the new, reinvented, slutty and aloof Starfire. |
raeofshimmeringsunshine chapter 1 . 9/2/2013 Wow. This was beautifully written, with an amazing story-line. It was just so surreal; I love how you didn't just reveal that Raven was immortal, you delved into it so skillfully and really described what it must feel like for all of the people she cares about to leave and move on. I can imagine how lonely Raven must feel after all that time, and how horrible it must feel to visit an old friend about to pass on, one she took care of in older days. Overall, "Time for Reflection" was amazing and made me think about gifts and curses as time flies by. |
