Reviews for Soul Ablaze
EternalKing chapter 5 . 8/21
Didn’t Asuna literally get her second wind the previous chapter? What’s up with the doom and gloom a second time? Granted, “going home” and “nothing matters” are different focal points but that doesn’t really change the fact that two suicide runs is too much so soon after another.
Guest chapter 1 . 6/19/2019

Foalan21 chapter 9 . 4/5/2019

Ash the Aura Guardian chapter 9 . 10/31/2018
Man, I can't believe such a good story isn't getting updates anymore. What you've created here is absolutely incredible, and I would've loved to see more of it. I love how you combined the best of both SAO and Pokémon into one incredible package, even though it does make me sad whenever I think about a world in which the Pokémon games never took off. And with this being a death game...well, it's a dead franchise for sure! But at the same time, a virtual world where you can actually live and connect with real, thinking Pokémon is probably the dream of every fan.

Aside from that, you've done a great job with the characters. Argo is getting more screen time, Asuna is more hopeless but she seems to be getting used to this world, Sinon has a severe case of DID, and Kirito...well, he's still Kirito; I don't really think he'll ever stop being the reckless hero. I'm also surprised by Kibaou, what with him actually being sensible for once! Did having a Pokémon partner really change him that much? Or did he get just as disturbed as everyone else because of that creep Spiegel?

What I'm trying to say here is, this story is a masterpiece. As a fan of both SAO and Pokémon, I really hope you bring it back to life someday.
Holly Leaves chapter 1 . 6/19/2018
This story is really good and has so much potential. I wish the author would come back. :(
SuperSonicSmash chapter 3 . 4/17/2018
Not sure anybody’s mentioned this yet, but Shino has 20/10 vision. Much better than the typical person.
Mac-The-Editor chapter 1 . 12/7/2017
Numerous times throughout this chapter you refer to Zero as both "her" and "him," and it is exceedingly annoying. There were a few other minor details that were annoying, but overall it was a fun introduction to this world.
jordanlink7856 chapter 1 . 4/23/2017
Oh my god the mystery dungeon questions. Oh that brought a happy tear to my eye.
pokemon122000 chapter 1 . 4/16/2017
I absolutely love the idea of this story! You are a beautiful person for writing this.
Mew-the-Dark-Matter-buster1 chapter 9 . 3/30/2017
I think the outcome of the boss fight would have been more comedic if Brock actually had a weakness to attacks from women players, or was unable to attack them due to their cuteness. If there was a boss that is like that... I am pretty sure there would be more players who would try to suck up to the female players in order to get their support in the boss raid, and also to do... other things afterwards. Maybe Brock should have just been given a weakness to ear-pulls and poison jabs from Crogunk, after all, they worked very well in the anime to stun him and keep him in check whenever he tried to get sappy with girls.

The 2 personalities of Sinon and Shino was an interesting character development that was not a very observable part of the origional character. Sinon's sadistic behaviour and her trigger-happiness contrasts Shino's more timid personality. I am liking the multi-view this story has because it allows me to better understand what and how the characters are thinking. Facial expressions and verbal cues can only give off general feelings and reactions. Asuna's quest to find a purpose to live for was a descent theme for you to include and focus on because it was a important topic that could have been used for character development during the anime. It was something that Asuna was dealing with sort-of behind the scenes most of the time because the anime focused mostly on the main protagonist Kirito and his interactions with the other players. If Kazuto's sister is here in the story in the game, I expect that might change the way the plot goes. Instead of finding the girl with her pet Pina, (I don't remember her name) he might meet his sister with her Axew/Fraxure companion. This would make him more protective of her than the undermentioned side character.

By the way, I feel bad for Klein. It is sad that he already knows that he is a side-character and that he is not getting very much attention. Maybe you should give him some attention and hook him up with Lisbeth later on in the future of the story so that he can at least have someone to comfort him when he is feeling lonely and ignored by the readers. Lisbeth also might need someone close to Kirito to recover from her temporary crush on Kirito. She and Klein probably deserve at least SOME happiness for all the emotional baggage they have for being side-characters that the viewers ignored.

Most of the episodes from this point until episode 10 focused on world-building game mechanics, some slight romance possibilities, Kirito's first guild's fatal mission flop and his resulting descent into apathy and guilt over his failure to protect the other members from dying. I was able to pick out his motivations and the reasons for his actions by reading between the lines because I used my knowledge, the dialogue, and his facial expressions to put it together. Some people do not like the original source material because it requires a certain amount of intelligence and insight in order to pick out and discover these things because they are not apparent, or are too cliche to them.
Mew-the-Dark-Matter-buster1 chapter 8 . 3/30/2017
*Snicker* Poor Kazuto, uh I mean Kireto. The reactions of the girls to being able to finally have a bath were interesting. His unfortunate timing and his attempts to cover up the fact that 2 girls were using his bath, and the slapstic effect of their indignation added to the overall drama of this story. I believe the original anime did not showcase any bathing facilities, the only body function that was deeply involved was eating. The only situation where there was anything body related was in the 10th episode, where Asuna stripped down into her bra and panties. No lemon scenes were shown, but they do leave it open for the audience to assume that they did "do the deed," if you know what I mean.

The Rat's high observance skill of people is a great benefit to her job, and the detail that she was a beta-tester was not something I had considered a possibility.

In regards to trigonometric substitution for integrals, I am also in college and I took that class last semester. The integral of -sin(x) cos(x). That basic one might not help much, but I am in a hurry right now as I am making this review. I can talk to you about it much later.
Krulla Chief chapter 4 . 3/17/2017
that wasn't a Bronzong. I recognize Bronzong. It was another mon I recognize: Giratina. That was a legendary encounter.
OmniWasTaken chapter 2 . 2/27/2017
A Gallade is needed in Kirito's team.
Guest chapter 9 . 2/19/2017
Please continue this amazingness.
Squishy4953 chapter 4 . 1/4/2017
Ok, I don't usually review this early on, but I just have to say that I love your writing.
I love it, especially the way you go far more in depth about characters than the canon did.
And personally, Asuna really annoyed me there with her awful negativity and terrible relationship with her eevee (3 eevee!) which is actually a pretty decent version of how she acted in the actual canon.
She really has to work on those gaming skillz...
Welp, imma continue reading!
Great job so far!
:)
