I love this story sooooo soooooo much. Thank you!

I have only recently discovered LOTM fanfiction, and am so happy I did! Loved the idea of Alice being deaf. Unique but at the same time, not surprising given how quiet her character was in the movie. When I read the description, it was kind of like, "yeah, why not!" Wonderful exploration of Uncas and Alice's characters. I am looking forward to reading your other work. Your idea intrigued me so much that I started with this story. Hope you are still wriiting! You have a lot of talent!

I just loved this story, although I had a hard time with Alice being raped. I know that was a common occurrence back then, but especially with her being deaf. I'm glad it had a happy ending but I'm sad to see it end, as always. You are such a great writer, and look forward to reading the updates to your other story. Keep up the great work! Thanks for posting another original idea for Alice & Uncas!

A very nicely paced, and very unique story. At night, before bed, when I usually read, I had a hard time putting it down. You clearly have a very creative mind. I particularly loved the thread of Alice's animal skills and Trouble that flowed through the whole story.

I have to say that I found Uncas a bit too anglicized for my taste and for what I would expect of a story set in the 18th century. I know he was educated, but when he used terms such as "hypothermic," it really struck me as odd-like it broke my train of thought to hear him suddenly use a term like that. I love the Alice/Uncas stories because he is so different than Alice and her culture, and I didn't feel that as much in this story. But he is your character and you can do what you want with him.

okay um dont u get a little bit of an alice in wonder land vibe when her name is alice yet he calls her rabbit?

I would like to start off by saying that my sister is profoundly deaf, so i found this story interesting from the begining. And i gotta say, you did a pretty good job. I dunno if you know any deaf people or anything but you did a good job, obviously you didnt go to much into her being deaf because there are so much more issues that aren't in this story but you came accross really respectful and i appreciate it. Alot of people are real jerks about it and it pisses me off.

Anyway, i liked this story. It made me experiance pretty much every emotion so thats a pretty cool. :)
