great story so far, but dissapointed he keeps not telling anyone about the new details about the night he was left at the grangers he keeps seeing in his dreams and no one thought to ask the professor about the green light or the strange/magical dreams at 2:17am repeatedly..

I'd be really interested to know what made you choose to use okehampton in your story as it's not a place that people outside of the area would have heard of.

I really enjoyed this story. Thank you for sharing it with us. I especially liked the changed-up order of events, still fitting everything in but with different results of because of a different reason. I liked how you showed that both Harry and Hermione would have ended up...more mature? Have better social skills? by the different circumstance of have Harry placed with the Grangers. And I really liked the Grangers, too. It made total sense to change their professions for this story. A good read :)

Snape, not being a blatantly biased bastard with barely any brains, but being borderline benevolent? There's something you don't see every day. I think I like it. A lot. It probably helps that (a) he's still recognizably Snape and (b) it's in-character for him to react that way.

It might be a coincidence (or a minor case of amnesia), but if it's not, this is the first time in a very long time that I've actually cried at something in a work of fiction. I am highly impressed.

I've got to say, you got me invested up to this point, in all the little differences between Harry being raised with the Dursleys, and here with the Grangers. However, you do two things that I think ruin thi story for me. For one, you separate Harry and Hermione, two characters whom you spend 7 chapters establishing their connection. Secondly, very little changes once school begins and I think that's a total missed opportunity. He doesn't even seem too sad that he's not in the same house as his sister. Imagine if Harry was a Ravenclaw, because his thirst for knowledge wasn't beaten out of him by the Durselys. Suddenly, you've got a completely unique fanfic on your hands.

Yeah, there are too many inconsistencies in this for me to continue reading.
It was a novel approach, but the abuse, even if it was mild, from the adult Grangers really turned me off from reading further too.
So, I'll just move along to something else...

Imho, Laurence is being a total ass for yelling at Harry and punishing him for something He CLEARLY couldn't prove Harry had done Anything wrong!

Also, it is entirely Unbelievable that Zoo Security would place blame on Harry as he was Assaulted prior to the glass disappearing and being replaced...what is there Proof that Harry had done Anything other than fall down after being hit and losing his glasses.
Where is the punishment for Dudley for the Assault on Harry?!

As a police officer, he's suppose to be trained to Investigate and get Proof of wrongdoing!
He fails Massively as a parent and can be compared to Vernon Dursley's canon treatment of Harry, as canon had No proof of fault but still Harry suffered punishment then too.

It seems that despite the 'loving family' the Grangers show, there is an element of abuse from Lawrence towards Harry after the episodes of accidental magic (which None of them are aware of magic) and without Proof that Harry was the person that did this events, he's Still taking it out on him Unfairly!

Also whe at Gringots they could have asked more and again bout the Will.

Not Trusting Dimbledore: It feels like Harry started acting out of character when he ignored his sisters warnings and more so when he ignored his parents. Even Hermione felt OOC for the fic with how she caved. This could have been stress from their new environment or dumbledore. Harry hears a conversation between Snape and McGonagall and never changes his mind or writes home to complain? He doesn't tell anyone of his suspicions but hermione and again nothing is done about this revolution.

Snape's Defence of Potter: I got why he did it but Harry's reaction afterwards is odd. He brushes it off. We're talking about the boy that eavesdrops and has to puzzle out every detail about the philosopher's stone. Why would he try to find out why?

As you can see there were several things that made this story and odd duck for me. It's still good and well thought out and written but you left things hanging in certain ways that took from the story for me. I'm not sure if your planning to write a sequel and fill in the wholes but I wish you luck.
