Sorry for the delayed review of this awesome chapter. I know I kind of disappeared after pimping it at lumpypotatoes, but that was entirely due to unrelated issues and I didn't want you to think it has anything to do with your chapter not being great, or not being long enough to warrant a review! I know it's short, but it fits perfectly, and flows so well with the story and the concept. It totally makes sense that sometimes, Lorelai and Rory would have short, silly, drunk conversations. And they would definitely be multi-media: texting, emailing, sometimes talking for hours, sometimes just exchanging voice mails. It's a part of who they are, and if you didn't vary the tone, style, length and pace of their talks this story wouldn't be as clever, real, and perfect as it is. I can't wait for more!

I think a liquid cinnamon roll sounds absolutely delicious. (And now I've just spent some time searching for a recipe! Yum! Thanks for the tip - you should teach!)

This texting chapter was adorable. This series of events seems like something totally out of the show, with Lorelai a little tipsy and bugging her hardworking daughter in the middle of the night. Loved the 'roof red inn' - "Are you correcting me?" part. And yes, when you start leaving out apostrophes, it's time for bed!

Glad to hear that the boat trip is still going strong, even though sleeping on solid ground is good. Sounds to me like Luke and Lorelai are now on solid ground, even when they're on the boat.

I have always loved this fic, and lucky for you you updated just as I found my reviewing voice. Not. But I'll try.
This could totally be a real way to continue the series. In my mind, Girl Talk is a webseries produced by tbtb to continue to update us on the girls and their guys without all the expense and hassle of filming the show, and your chapters are real bonus episodes. I love this whole concept, and I'm so grateful that you've picked it up again. I love Luke interjecting his voice into this chapter, too! My only complaint about this chapter is that the references to MV, the dorky sweatshirt and the lobster invoke painful memories for me of AVV, my most hated episode. But I'll deal. Great chapter, more please. (I've always wanted to say that!)

I'm so glad to see you continuing this story! The dialogue-only style works really well, as does Luke interjecting occasionally. Ha, Lorelai would be concerned about Rory's choice of seat on the bus. Hopefully you, like Lorelai "don't get tempted to sail off into the sunset", would love to read more of this!

I still think that the structure for this story is brilliant. What could be better than the girls having long talks together? And the show handled their separations the same way, by using phone conversations. I love that it's all dialogue between them. Hard to do, but you're doing a great job of it. Very clever. Also, great job of interweaving events of the past with what probably happened after "Bon Voyage." Very believable, very readable, very good!

"Gnome-stealing hooligan." Hee. Is that better or worse than butt-faced miscreant? In any case, I love it!

Also love the SS Java Junkie. Great name! And I admire Lorelai's assertion that if she keeps referring to it as such, Luke will have accepted it by the end of the trip.

Now that you've found your muse again and have revisited this story, I hope some new chapters pop up soon! This story is too good to let it get washed out to sea! Definitely looking forward to more!

Very cute. Loved the 'fair on-the-go." That's not a bad concept, actually. Some fast food franchise needs to jump on that! Looking forward to getting Luke and Lorelai on their boat trip and hearing about Rory calling Jess. That could be a very interesting development!

Happy to see you back with an update! The things discussed between the girls during this exchange seemed exactly like things they would bring up to each other. I think that Rory would be second-guessing her rejection of Logan's proposal. It makes sense. Her job is hard and she isn't comfortable with it yet; she's thinking about how much easier it could have been. Grass is always greener, you know. And also quite natural that Lorelai would voice her fears about April and the upcoming boat trip to Rory. Who else would be so understanding and supportive? Love the glimpses we get of their lives through these conversations together! Thanks for updating!

Is something going to happen between Rory and Jess, while she is in Philly? Or are they going to decide to stay friends for now, and first get to know each other again and catch up on what has been happening in their lives in the last year or so?

And what is Lorelai's advice going to be, if Rory asks for her opinion about her wanting to give Jess another chance, and reassuring her mother that both of them know that this is a very delicate matter, and that they are going to take things very slowly this time, not wanting to mess anything up between either of them and also make sure not to cause any more trouble for her and Luke?

Or is Rory going to find out that Jess has a girlfriend and feels jealous, and must realize that she still has feelings for him?

That sounds like a very accurate discussion they could have had. Nice to see you back.
