Well done!
Whack-the-beetle chapter 1 . 4/28/2017
Lovely. Again very well written and sweet without being corny. I like the idea of the Goblin King as manufacturer of toys and it's nice that the ending is left a little open, there is friendship and something more in the future, but it's slow in the making. Also you have a very clever explanation as to why Sarah's toys reflect the Labyrinth.

Absolutely wonderful. Stories like this make it easy to believe in magic.

AWWWW I had no idea I needed this to exist until I read it. Some of these lines are fantastic.
"This is all I know; grand gestures and hard limits. And you." It just describes him so perfectly. You were able to capture the characters and the clash between them yet bring about a resolution that we all really wanted.
Jani chapter 1 . 11/23/2015
At the beginning, when Sarah pulled out "an ivory box the size of a grapefruit" I pictured it being MADE of ivory instead of the color of paper carton. It made her expecting fudge from it very strange. And I was expecting the box to be the gift, elaborately carved, etc :) There. That was "feedback." This was a lovely story, so magical and sweet. The little details made it truly come alive, like Sarah's little place, the library, the diner. Very fun and relaxing and happy to read. Thank you.

...

I have to get over my shock at that your story is over already for a moment... I could read this story for days if only it were that long. Volumes of books. Your way of writing is so lovely! And your characters, every single one, are wonderful. Emma, as well. She cracked me up. I loved how you wrote Hoggle, so full of life and so him... And his bickering with Sir Didymus. I loved the moment Sarah had with Ludo, just sitting there with a friend you are so close to that you don't need words, holding hands through the mirror. Yours is one of the very few stories where I really liked Sarah - so normal, and sweet, clumsy (oh I was snickering about her hang up the display shelf project)... how the first thing she said to Jareth was Thank you like a decent person...
I loved the toys, and the reactions they got out of her. The adress of the shop. :)

To make it short, every word.

Thank you for this gem. :)

Have a lovely day -

Daughter of Stars chapter 1 . 12/26/2013
That was fun!
I liked your writing style (the date system worked well, I thought, and kept it from being at all confusing), enjoyed your characterisation (good job on the dialects), and appreciated the references to the toys - they're such a fun thing to discover as a fan, but so rarely mentioned or explained in fics.
My only critique would be that Sarah acts maybe a bit too childish in the last scene - but as you had her notice how much like a teenager she was acting, I will take it as deliberate (Jareth does seem to have that effect).
Lovely story, and I like the way it turned out.

etcetera nine chapter 1 . 6/27/2013
I loved this story. So original, and the description and the inventiveness of the toys - amazing. And I loved Ludo, how you conveyed so much with him, using so little.
