This is a remarkably good story! You did a wonderful job of showing both sides, and also how our perspective changes as strong emotions settle. To me, it’s not a question of Rick’s justification, it’s a reflection of where his mind is at this moment in time. We are the sum of our experiences, and Rick has had some difficult recent times. That fear of loss has been stewing in his subconscious; his reaction (in my mind) was perfectly understandable. I love that Kate realizes she is reacting like a police partner, not a lover. She calms down and sees the fear and pain underneath. She STAYS! I love their understanding and reconciliation, the comfort they give and take from the other. Just a truly beautiful story!

Good story. A lot more complex and emotional than I expected. But it was an interesting observation at how scared Castle was by the birthday prank and how it , along with the kidnapping, might just make him snap. I love how Beckett stayed to be there for him. It's nice to see that she's sticking by his side.

I enjoyed this story. I never read until a story is complete (I know - I should be reading sooner because feedback is like air when you write something). Anyway I just wanted to let you know what a great job you did with "fighting" part of the story-I always suck at that-end it way too soon and don't really get heated enough-this was just perfect.
