I've been rereading this story from the start since the last update came through on my email. I was going to get to the latest chapter before reviewing, but Raminus' section here just got me. My favourite part of the whole thing so far! I don't even know that him from the game (still never played the mages guild) but as soon as it was revealed that he cared for Elisif I foudn their relationship so sweet. So sweet that several chapters ago I wasn't sure I even wanted Elli and Lucien to get back together anymore (and I came here initially for the Lucien indulgence). I'm still not sure!

I'm impressed with how you've gone backwards through time to explore/revealthe characters, their situations and relationships while also moving the story forward. And the characters' present behaviours have all been explained gradually with the flashbacks, such as Raminus being such a rake because he was trying to forget Elisif- honestly didn't see it coming and I may have whined in sympathy IRL. Also broke my heart when Lucien's heart was broken by her kidnapping. It's a skill to be willing to put your characters through such anguish! But leaves such an impression on readers.

I can't tell how this is going to end and I'm dreading it for I want them all to get the happy ever after. This story is a long time coming but so worth it!
