Reviews for Pie
Arizo chapter 1 . 7/13/2013
Hi, Bellz, this is the author.

I talked to RayLegend, she said her review was just a joke, and that it isn't an anti-homosexuality campaign. So, its all cool.

I'm glad you liked my story, thank you for taking the time to read it.
Bellz chapter 1 . 7/12/2013
I hate when people read into stuff too much. It's not saying homosexuality is bad. Maybe, just maybe, Crowley was just making some freaking pie. And doing a little flirting. Being his normal, adorable, Crowley self.

RayLedgend chapter 1 . 4/11/2013
While this story may pass itself off as an uninspiring and even dull plotline, in actual fact, the author has used this short story to craft exquisite, though offensive symbolism. You see, this story is actually an admonishment of homosexuality!

The character Bobby is of little symbolic significance, as the meat of the story comes from the symbolic nature of Crowly. Ironically, in a clever use of subversion, the story takes place from Bobby's point of view.

Regardless, Crowly is a symbol for homosexuality, noted as coming on to Bobby when he offers the sponge bath. He is also described as something of a 'wife' figure despite being male. Crowly is clearly representative of homosexuality, and perhaps the idea of gay marriage as well.

Unfortunately, the author's choice to make their homosexual symbol a demon was no accident. The author is making the clear statement that homosexuality is demonic, in other words evil. Crowly also demonstrates a number of the deadly sins. Gluttony, symbolized by the number of pies he cooked, lust in the already mentioned sponge bath scene, and sloth, again by using the pies, he is shown to have been passively unwinding for so long that the house is now full of pie.

In short, the author claims that homosexuality is an evil and sinful lifestyle, and I am appalled by this blatant homophobia.
