Thank you so much for writing about this. I truly despise those people who write these things off as only happening to other people. I have a friend who was abused by her mother for 12 years, until she decided to move in with her father and step-mother. Every time she tells us about her childhood I'm surprised at how well she coped with it. Some people are not so lucky. It's rare that someone is able to accurately write about child abuse, and truly, this fic made me cry. Again, thank you.

To many feelings involved with reading this story. I was fortunate enough to have been able to be one of the one who would grow up and be able to walk away, but there are far to many who are never given that chance..

People rarely understand the troubles others suffer with, especially when they're kids... You've successfully written this to manipulate the readers emotions, although, from your reaction, I'm willing to bet you manipulated your own emotions too. The feeltrain stops for no one T-T

I think you did a very good job keeping Pitch fairly in character here...which must have been difficult, seeing that he's such a black and white character in the movie . Wonderful job! Thanks so much for writing to bring awareness to this issue. The sad thing is that while there are children who are physically abused, so many are also emotionally scarred by the mere actions and words of those they should be able to trust...

The way in which you wrote Pitch as something which really does belong, at least in our day and age (I'm not sure about the Middle Ages) to the world of children was a good choice, as well. After all, the fears of childhood are things that adults, many times, cannot understand. But, when a child faces a real life monster every day across the kitchen table, the shadows and creatures under the bed, which vanish in the sunlight, truly do fade away into the realm of innocence.

Obviously, I've been very touched by this story and the way you wrote it . And I have to say, the song you referenced in the title...is probably one of my favorite country music songs of all time. So bravo on that score, too!
