Ok. I'm glad that they FINALLY got the miscarriage out in the open. I'm impressed that John has figured it out on his own. He was so in tune with Joss that he knew she was different - felt different. He figured it out himself. Did I say that I was impressed? (And all without the means that was available to him to spy, Harold -wink).
You write them so beautifully. Subtle. Not overstated. Lovely.
(By the way, the last line in my previous review was supposed to read. "Quit because you can no longer do the job, or because you have lost the passion for it. Otherwise you may lose yourself. " -my fingers slipped try to make the correction, and the next thing I knew, I was prematurely being thanked for the review :D )

Ok. I thought that she Would want him to quit such a dangerous job. But I guess I see her point. They both do what they both do because they believe in their respective causes. Quit because you can no longer do the job, or because you have losthe passion for it. Otherwise you may lies yourself.

Nice intimate dialogue between these two.
Interesting character insights about both John and Joss. A bored John that has too much time on his hands is a self-destructive John.
And Joss hates being up on that freakin' pedastal that he'd placed her on. So, high school wasn't exactly a fun period of either of their lives.
I like the subtlety with which you write their relationship.

'All the boys were intimidated by you, Joss. Horny and scared is an awful tough combination.'
so much to choose from but this here I think is my favourite phrase lol. And that is God's gospel truth !

Joss' words to John " you were waiting for me" just had me crying in my kitchen. Yes we want him waiting for joss on the show, fulfilling his second chance to do it right. Omg the thought came to me what if Nolan & Plageman plan on a redemption episode & have John waiting for joss, or her waiting for him, finally declaring their love for one another close to the show's end, & something earth shattering happens- omg. They would do that to us.

This chapter was so somber and yet filled with understanding and true love. I love the way you capture these little moments and make them shine. *sigh*

I like how these two feel each other out. It reads like a true conversation between them. I've always seen their conversations as an intricate dance and it feels you've captured that element. And I love that they're having such a serious conversation while doing something so mundane as eating ice cream.

I really enjoyed the bit about the will and the humor injected there... the talk about Carter losing their baby... sad but a very precious moment between them.

I'm glad that at least they talked about things. It was pretty sad that they ended up talking about the subject of what would happen when John died. I wouldn't want to think like that. Maybe him and Joss could try again in the future when she is ready. I just hope that they take things nice and easy and not ruin what they have now
