Love this story so far! Please update! I would love to see Kelly step up and be protective and dad-like and the rest of the fire department to be protective older brothers. Also how would Angel react once she is actually cared for and loved? I think she should rebel and then Kelly could be placed into the father role easily.

I think I'm in love. I say that about a lot of things actually, but I really mean it. I think it's normal for kids to make friends that quickly, especially if you find a common interest. I don't think it should be unexpecting for her to have made friends. She did leave him a message, so he can't be that mad, but I don't know how bad a neighborhood they may have been in so... anyway, you should definitely continue to continue!

Just found this story - and I love it. Am having a few chuckles at Kelly's handling of his niece in the last chapter. Looking forward to reading more of this story - thanks for sharing.

Good story

As far as I can tell, Kelly and Shay's apartment has just two bedrooms. So wonder where she'd sleep. I do like Shay being with Kelly, and it'd be nice for Angel to have her around, anyway, so hope that won't change. But, it'd be a real adjustment for both her and Kelly to have an impressionable teenage girl under their roof, considering they both are use to entertaining "company" without a second thought! I'm thinking Angel's pretty much put all her eggs in one basket (meaning Kelly), and has no back-up plan, except maybe going back to NYC, if not welcomed in (permanently) by Kelly. I can't imagine that he wouldn't want a relationship with her, but to take her in, acting as a full time...what, guardian, is expecting a lot.
I can't wait to see where this goes. We all know what a softie Kelly really is, so I'm betting it'll go well. The guys at 51? Shoot! No reason they wouldn't be supportive. Hope you update soon.

I think, he responded, so he'll be fine with her. He's definitely gonna ask where his sister is, I mean, he would wonder why she's there. I think shay's gonna be awesome with her. And I think the firehouse will become like, older brothers and get protective. I really think you should continue!
