This is such an amazing story. I love the fact that you are not really shipping any characters in this fic. I find that I can't read stories with any kind of relationship in this fandom. I never really shipped these characters as a child so I can't do it now.

Hopefully one day you will update! I would love that!

It's refreshing to see some Season Zero themes worked in so seamlessly; it's a good contrast to the earlier part of the chapter, and rounds out his character nicely.

So I read this and HOSTage-0 a long, lon, time ago, back when I had barely begun fanfiction. Every so often I've checked back on your profile for an update. And now, chapter three...it's a miracle, I tell you.
This chapter is just as amazing as the previous two and more - humor, suspense, and that sort of angst/internal philosophy that wonderful authors can pull off. I loved the selfie scene, too - the picture's description was adorable!
I'm thrilled to find out what happens next...what's college for Atem like? I'm a little afraid that he's just going to kill himself to get away from the mysterious order, but I can see maaany many ways that will go wrong. Plus, I remember hearing some foreshadowing to Egypt...ah, I can't wait!

Loved it! So much more than what I expected. Now that my finals are over and done with, I took my sweet time reading the chapter and was not disappointed. If you ever do write a book, I'll make sure to be one of the first to read it. It's amazing how even the little scenes that most people do away with are thoroughly entertaining in your fics.

I must admit, I was surprised when I saw this in the feed. I'm generally pretty pessimistic and give fics a year of dead space-meaning that if there doesn't seem to be any news on it for over a year it must be dead.

But I'm glad you got your muse back and I hope it stays for a while. Ever since you posted that other story that's supposed to take place sometime in this one, I've wanted to see progression. "Atem comes back" fanfics are some of my personal favorites because there is so much potential and angst.

I had to re-read the previous chapters, but I can see improvement from chapter 2 to this one. A lot of words in the previous chapters were missing the last or middle letter but I didn't see that here.

I hope you can stay for a while this time!

I'm wondering how quickly Yugi's going to catch on to why Atem's trying to distance himself from him. I know it's something he's done before. (And he probably does know a decent amount of English, but I figure he either has a heavy accent/prone to grammatical errors, and/or that having the Millennium Puzzle helped act as a translation device - like the way that Atem has to consciously switch to Japanese now.)

The way you described the foreign mind in Atem's doesn't sound like it has the familiarity of a Millennium Item - he's familiar with the Eye and the Scales, and the Rod and Ring probably aren't too far off. So I think that rules out the Items being unearthed, at least from my perspective. That Atem is in Japan - presumably so quickly - means that it's likely the people are from Japan. It would certainly explain the poor replica of a tomb. For the black goop... reminds me a lot like a placenta, actually, and I wouldn't be in the slightest surprised if there was a deal made with Zorc or some other god - Japanese or otherwise.

Very good! I like the calculus joke, but I'm so glad I don't have to take it yet. And don't worry about the whole time period thing, no one likes it when our awesome characters get too old anyway. I just make them whatever age I feel like, really. The note that said GO was also really mysterious and cool. One weird thing about me is that I love "reactions," I don't really know why but Yugi's reaction to seeing Atem again made me grin. Keep writing! :D

At the end of the manga, I think Yugi is sixteen. But in the anime, before they go to Egypt, Anzu says something along the lines of, "we've been on every adventure with you for the past four years" which would make Yugi 18 I guess... The time line is different in every aspect, so I wouldn't get stressed out about it. I like to say Yugi was 16 when the series ended just because that's closer to my age.

Its good, and I can smell the Puzzleshipping from a mile away. So I love it and will love it more when you update it again. Just dont make them suffer a lot, and give them a bit of help. Looking forward to the next chapter.
