chymom chapter 15 . 9/21/2013 Loved this story! Do you have more? |
litsnez chapter 1 . 9/1/2013 This author is bar none, the best Five-0 writer I've come across. Each character is 'in character' beginning to end, the scenarios and actions fit and there is an excellent balance between humor and body. I never find myself stumbling over misfit phrasing or behaviors with this writer's offerings, which is a testament to the author's skill, comprehension of the characters and, most importantly, heart for the material. Kudos and a heartfelt mahalo to quisinart4. Please never stop writing these! |
A. Mulholland chapter 15 . 8/22/2013 I've been rather remiss with keeping up and reviewing, for which I apologize. Anyway. All caught up now and reeling from the feels. You have such a talent for telling stories and such an incontrovertible understanding of these characters that is absolutely unbelievable. I loved this story, its angst and happy bits and everything in between. The tension, character growth, and relationship development between Steve and Kono was so well done and, above all, realistic. It's so easy to toe the line of sensationalism, especially with angsty plots, but your storytelling has such control and the characters such sincerity. Fantastic, fantastic work. |
francis2 chapter 15 . 8/14/2013 I love this Story a lot. Thanks for everything! |
Guest chapter 14 . 8/14/2013 Love this! |
hunnybee1 chapter 15 . 8/9/2013 Perfect ending! Although it's obvious in the way they are around each other that they're VERY much in love, it was still nice to actually hear them openly verbalise it for the first time...Steve especially. I swear, I practically squealed like a little girl at the way he eventually said it - "'Me, too. I... you know, love you too.' He says it so fast, the words running together without a pause in between, but the important ones are easily heard; the love and the you, they can't be hidden." It was just. So. CUUUUUUUUTE! Plus your set-up of the scene created such a vivid image in my head of how he looked/sounded as he said it. You're really great at that. I really enjoyed the final scene, mainly because of what Steve did for the Mahuki kid; it was so very Steve-like and Kono's reaction just reminded me of one of the reasons why she probably fell for him in the first place - his selflessness and willingness to help the people around him, even when he doesn't have to. I've really enjoyed this fic so much and - I'm sure I must have already said this to you - I didn't want it to end! That being said, I'm very excited about the new fic you've been working on. Can we get an ETA on when the first chapter will be up? A week? A month? ) |
JustCallMeMarly chapter 15 . 8/9/2013 I absolutely LOVED this... I'm so glad I waited a bit for the ending so I could read it in one go! It's been a nice distraction from all of the busy-ness the past couple of months. As always, I look forward to what you can come up with next! :) Kudos from Eastern Europe! |
Dracomione-KoVeLover chapter 15 . 8/7/2013 Hi! Sorry for not reviewing in a long, long time! What can I say, other than that I really love the ending! You really kept true to the character while keeping the plot very intriguing! I, very much look forward to any other Steve and Kono story that you hopefully will post in the future. Until then! Thanks. |
Sidalee chapter 15 . 8/7/2013 Okay, now I'm kinda sad that this story came to an end but wow, what a ride it was. This was just as great as the rest of the story, the simple way they shared the three big words without any syrup or cliche but I expected nothin less from you. Lol. You have such a great talent to write domestic McKono, even if you broke them up for a little while, it was one of the best, if not the best story I've ever read in this fandom. (They both turn at the voice. Steve is on guard immediately at the sound of his name as he takes a step in front of Kono to instinctively protect her.) This was my fav line, coz this was so Steve I could see him doing exactly that on the show. Excellent story and can't wait to read from you again, hopefully soon! ) |
Sidalee chapter 14 . 8/7/2013 *sigh* I love this story so much. It's perfect. I love the casual way Kono just told Chin and Danny that she and Steve are back together. And lol, Danny's reaction was hilarious and very spot on. And Chin, omg, Chin, it was perfect. I always find him the hardest to write but you nailed him perfectly. His whole not saying anything at first then his talk with Steve...I totally made inhuman noises of pleasure while reading it. Lol, of course Kono's dad hates Steve. I think one of the hardest part of getting back together with someone who hurt you before, is that you have to give a good reason to your friends and family why they don't have to hate him anymore. So yeah, Steve you are in deep shit with the Kalakauas. And the last scene, a true McKono romance one, seriously I can't understand why they aren't canon. They are so perfect together. |
lynnrxgal chapter 15 . 8/6/2013 Awwww... so sweet! |
ellodarlin chapter 15 . 8/6/2013 This whole chapter had me grinning like an idiot from start till finish! Fantastic, as usual! Infinite love for your stories. Beyond excited to hear you've got another one on the way! |
TvFanatic97 chapter 15 . 8/6/2013 It was great to read them being back to a state of domesticity and sort-of-normalcy in this chapter after all that they have been through this fic. I'm going to repeat myself again by saying I love the simplicity of their declarations and this chapter is no different because I loved how Kono just said, "I love you" to Steve. I liked how even though Kono was sure of herself when she said the words she was awkward with her shoulder tap and how she wanted to run away because it was not only adorable but it was also realistic, even though her character is to be self-assured and confident anyone would be nervous after declaring their love to someone. I like that Steve has already seen that she loved him because he's good at reading people, as we've been shown on the show, but despite already knowing it I love that he was kind of overwhelmed by it because...um, who wouldn't be after someone declares their love for you? I loved the way he said it back and kind of stumbled over saying it to begin with but got it out quickly at the same time. The declarations being so simple without long speeches was so in character for the two of them (I hate that in some Steve/Kono fics it's sometimes a huge spectacle when they say their I love yous when making it simple and not over the top can convey their feelings to the reader just as effectively if not better). This fic has been wonderful, heartbreaking and a very enjoyable read all in all, Thank you for sharing it with us. I hope that you'll post your new multi-chapter fic soon, if real life should permit! |
