I like this scene in the show, Whedon gives you just a brief glimpse of who they used to be. It is one of the rare shots of the River and Simon that was, the pride and adoration of her brother shines in Glau's performance. There are others that come close but I think this is the most striking moment in all of the series.

This is interesting, bystander POV is always good, you can put yourself in the position too see these characters. I have always wondered what it would like too watch the oddly diverse crew of Serenity descend the ramp after Miranda and Ferdinand Moon. Bound by grief and combat each one, I think they would scare me a little even Kaylee.

Awww! This was so cute. I love fics from the bystander's perspective, and this is a good one. Short and sweet, yet it still has a point. I like it!

Good idea. Who wuldn't be creeped out by those two.
