Holy... this is really something. And I haven't found something like it a long long time. Its so unique: whouda thought to compare Lily to her father and grandfather? And also their personalities are beautiful. I love Phil's kindness and unwillingness to be changed by the war. I don't know if you read it, but he reminds me a lot of Papa from The Book Thief. Jack is so relatable: his reasons for doing everything are so justified and on point. And Lily is perfect, oh my god. She's not a goody two shoes who violently hates James. She's kind of a rebel who's not breaking the rules per se, just more pushing it. Agh I love this so so so so much. Please please please please please please continue PLEASE. PLEASE.

I have no words for how good this story is. It is amazing. I love the way you include the two world wars and the way you transition between the time periods works fantastically. And seeing all three Evans' experiences in their respective wars makes me super emotional, especially this last chapter. Especially the last lines
"Proud? Jesus, Mary and Joseph. We would be devastated. Your mum would never recover. Don't you - you are the only thing we have." Like omfg. I love that you show Jack's obvious developing PTSD or other influences of the war. This is fascinating. And I feel so bad for Lily, who doesn't have people who can really understand what she experiences. Her family has the similar war knowledge but she can't share the dangers of her world, of magic, because they won't understand. And her hogwarts friends who can't quite relate to her struggle of being muggle born. And it's heartbreaking.

I do know that you last updated in 2015 and this review is in no way a demand for more, but I'm p sure that I did follow this when I first read it, though I can't log in again. I love your writing. Thank you for sharing it.

Absolutely adore this story. Just downed the whole thing today. I love the characterization of Jack and Phil, and your Lily is so perfect- the right combination of headstrong, funny, and brave that so few get right.

Hi, I have just recently come across your story and I have enjoyed reading it. I do hope you continue with it. I like the history of Lily's grandfather and father in their time of war. It shows the similarities as well as differences in the different wars. I plan to read your other stories as well. On a side note Congratulations on college. I understand how time consuming and difficult it can be. Hang in there. You'll be glad you did.

Please keep writing. This makes my top two Jily fics alongside the life and times. Beyond beautiful.

First, I can't believe it's been a month and a half and I didn't realize this had been updated. Shame on me, because this is one of my absolute favorite fics (and I'm not just saying that. You know I'm your niche target audience!)

I'm so happy to explore more of Jack and Phil's relationship, strained though it may be. We obviously saw a tiny bit before from a Lily section in a previous chapter, but I'm really interested in their dynamic: Jack being so gung-ho about joining the war effort, Phil doing it out of obligation only. I don't know that you've told us Jack's age, but he's obviously young if he left school to join up. It's interesting to kind of see if their friction is a result of vastly different personalities or different life experiences/stages. Hope we get to see more of it!

"Because you're my son. And you are the only worthwhile thing I've ever done." Excuse me while I go cry my eyes out over this line.

Always love, love Lily's sections, even more now that we're getting to a slightly older Lily who is really passionate about her rights! And obviously seeing her and James interact and bicker over important issues and see them both mature and ughhhhhh it's great. Plus Marlene lowkey loving them arguing their sides is amazing. Will never not want MORE (I try to keep my MORE JILY PLEASE as lowkey as possible because I don't want to take away from Lily's own story but I mean it's Jily soooo)
