Reviews for A Queen To Be
Bad0Wolf chapter 9 . 2/9/2014
Very impressive handling of the Game of Thrones dynamic but above all else, I really, REALLY love the more than explicit nod you made to the Accursed Kings. i have noticed it in not just this story but all of them: keep up the good work, and I really hope that you will continue the stories soon
Soso-lack-imagination chapter 9 . 7/17/2013
Sorry I'm late! Well that was a good ending and be sure that I'll be there for the sequel. There is just one thing that "bother" (sorry I can't find a softer one...): it's Alaenys' relations with the Targaryen family... which I don't really understand. I can't figure out whether it is one like Theon's with the Stark (without the death threat) or friendship or just adjustment to an irreversible situation.

I hope that your sequel will answer it :)
Oberon Sexton chapter 9 . 7/14/2013
Very good closer.

Aegon's return and the various children's reactions where lovely as was the final moment between Rhae and Aegon, I really appreciated how their memories of Maekar and Aelinor helped inform their own judgement of one ended on just the right note, with the two of them gaining strength from one another.

Can't wait to see the sequel!
pinke289 chapter 8 . 6/11/2013
I love the last sentence with Aegon showing how forceful he can be and what a great king later on. looking forward to the next chapter. :]
Oberon Sexton chapter 8 . 6/10/2013
Aegon was quite the dragon here, Lord Blackwoods never stood a chance when faced with the ferocity of the Targaryen force.

I liked that you had Ser Galend and Aegon discuss the line of inheritance and really, when one looks at all of Aegon's prospects, he is quite the ideal king from a wardens perspective given his bloodline, marriage and family. Not to mention his strong military record.

It seems Aegon has everything going for him so far, though Rhae and Daella seem to be in a different state...
Soso-lack-imagination chapter 7 . 6/10/2013
Baddass Alaenys,yeah! I really love her :-)
Bonus: romance is coming it would seem for Rhaelle, I'm eager to see her relationship with Robar developped.
But what about my bb Alaenys? I hope you won't let her stay alone... (You better not xD)
pinke289 chapter 7 . 6/3/2013
Rhaelle says she wants no children just before meeting her future husband. I hope Daella has a healthy baby. :)
Oberon Sexton chapter 7 . 6/2/2013
Wow Daella's in a bad way and in one of the worst places to be giving birth in! Coupled with the situation around Rhaegar, it certainly makes things very precarious. But luckily Baratheon was in the neighborhood, very interesting set up.

I found Aegon and Ser Galend's discussion of Aerion to be fascinating, they can never know where it comes from and it always strikes in different ways.

I can't wait to see the next chapter!
pinke289 chapter 4 . 5/27/2013
Some of my review was cut off so i thought id post here if thats ok. Aegons on his way home i cannot wait for that family Alaenys hopefully she has some better luck after having a dead guy fall on her. Eagerly awaiting the next chapter. :] sorry about this.
pinke289 chapter 6 . 5/27/2013
Happy birthday it's your birthday yet we get a great presant. Aegon's on his way home i cannot wait for that family Alaenys hopefully she has some better luck after having a dead man fall on awaiting the next chapter. :]
Oberon Sexton chapter 6 . 5/26/2013
Having the young ones ask after Maekar really does serve as a nice bridge between the two generations, so while Maekar's death may still hurt them, it still really benefits the family as they heal and I loved that touch.

Aemon's role in helping Aegon progress as a leader has been quite a joy as well, given how much he helped keep the Night's Watch going it's no surprise he's been able to keep the Targaryen cause together during the unease of it all.

Rhae and the little ones reaaaalllly need to get out of that chapter house, being confined can only cause division amongst them and it's becoming apparent that their tensions are running high.

I really like how things are going so far, keep it up!

Also, Happy Birthday!
pinke289 chapter 5 . 5/21/2013
So we finally find out Rhaegar's mother is a blackwood . It seems she was only to happy to leave her son Aerion must have been the worst husband in the world. Looking forward to Aegon and Rhae's reunion though that may be some time away. Great chapter as always. :]
Oberon Sexton chapter 5 . 5/20/2013
So the rebels want the Dorniwh influence removed? That's rather interesting, seeing how out of date and stubborn these men are about what they want, but I suppose it's those who refuse to accept change that cause the most strife in the end and Aemon certainly handled it intelligently, something that seems to be proving to be a great influence to young Jaehaerys.

But now they have to put the Blackwoods in place, a shame that Maekar imprisoned Bloodraven. The former Hand could have certainly quelled his family's arrogance.

I wonder how whats going to happen with Rhae and Daella, if little Rhaegar is anything to go by then they certainly can't stay with the Silent Sisters for much longer, but what else is left for them? It seems they're caught between a rock and a hard place.

Another great chapter, I'm very much looking forward to what comes next!
Oberon Sexton chapter 4 . 5/16/2013
Another chapter! :D

I found it quite touching how patient Jaehaerys was with the Tyrell boy, and boy how fierce he was as well. I could really see in this chapter the man he is going to become, the king who Barristan the Bold respected above most others.

Seeing Rhae and Daella try to make it work with the silent sisters, as well as keep their children going while also cope with their own grief was really quite sad, but I suppose it's that strength that's gotten them through so many trials.

And Aegon has certainly killed the boy within himself hasn't he? Aemon's words to Jon really came through in that scene.

Update soon, I'm glued to this story tight!
Oberon Sexton chapter 3 . 4/27/2013
I love how you showed Rhaelle struggling to adjust in a more modest environment, she sounds childish yet you make her reaction seem quite understandable given what she has been used to living in for the rest of her life and it worked well to show how far Rhae has come after her first few months with Aegon.

I feel a great swell of sympathy for Alaenys, the poor child is involved in all of this yet she lacks the comfort of having family to help her through it all, and she has been throughh so much in her young life.

I also really appreciated that you kept Maekar's death in Rhae's thoughts; she has had to put all of her grief aside for her children's sake but I imagine even the smallest of things would be a painful reminder of the father she has lost.

And now they're about to actually work with the Silent Sisters, I can only imagine how they'll get along with that. Well not so much the minor chores but rather the more...grim aspects of living amongst servants of the Stranger.

It seemed almost like the good old days again for Dunk, traveling around with a Targaryen prince, and it seems that Jaehaerys is every bit his father's son, though they're in quite a predicament now. One can only hope that they can hold out long enough until Aegon can get to them.

Another great chapter, I eagerly await to see what you do with it next!
