Hey, it's an emotional progression from his work to help Ashley earlier in the story. I actually *did* see it coming.

this story started off real strong with a unique story and an interesting character but quickly devolved into a retelling of the mass effect story with an irrelevant extra as soon as it reached canon events. i think it would have been interesting if Saren died here instead of getting hero thrown away from the MC

One thing I don’t get. With the foreknowledge Alex has why didn’t he setup an ambush for Saren and the Geth the moment the exited the Relay Monument? Multiple snipers nests with overlapping fields of fire, a couple of SAWs and RPGs could have made Saren’s surprise invasions a short one.

I realize it wouldn't fit well to the story, but the nanosuit is symbiotic with it's user. it assimilates into the user and cannot be taken off eventually. the nano suit and the user become one over time.
