Hatten chapter 11 . 9/23/2002 I know how a fic this great, only has 14 reviews? It's brilliant. You have captured the essence of Slytherin. Is this right before Harry Potter "kills" the Dark Lord? |
deSevera can't be arsed to sign in chapter 11 . 9/23/2002 Beautiful, this si brilliant and very well written. I am looking forward to some more. Anyone Demeter thinks worthy of reviewing has to be good! I presume you've read her fics. Check mine out as well if you want. Don't read 'The Bitter Ones' coz it's a bit shite basically...I'm working on a Draco one at the mo. It's strange how much I care about Luc. I don't usually like OCC, but you can never tell. the internal politics of Slytherin are amazing...you really capture the atmosphere in there. Even though I understand the motive, I hate to think of Severus using Cruciatus on one of his pupils. Still, it makes a change from sappy Sevvie we see so often! I love the irony of calling one of the Death Eaters Gabriel - and have you noticed how close Lucius (and Lucien ofr that matter) are to Lucifer? fallen angels and all that... If you are a Slytherin fan, can I shamelessly promote Nyarth Kyukon (i think that's spelt right!). I think she's on my favourite authors link... thanks again , sorry for the long and rather pointless review. Looking forward to the next installment. |
misched chapter 1 . 9/23/2002 (Creeping out of the corner) Psst! Hi! I've lurked, advertised and drooled over your story since its first posting! I'm really just lazy though and my server is soo slow... Anyway, great story! I wish Luc could be Snape though (big sigh...and a hammer behind the back-hint!hint!) Please continue writing. |

Mary54 chapter 10 . 9/18/2002 I have just finished what you have written so far. How tasty! This is quite a tour de force. WAIT, what are you doing reading this when you should be writing that? Get crackin' I just can't wait. mary |
Mary54 chapter 4 . 9/17/2002 Why, oh, why have I never read this before? It is so well thought out... so cunningly contrived! I just love it and.. OH OH you made Snape het! I think I have fallen in love! But, then, I AM fickle shall I read on, dear one? Oh yes, YES, I shall! Oh before it slips my mind... did I thank you? I thought not, how gauche! Thank you, sweet heart! mary |
Lataradk chapter 9 . 9/14/2002 Ah, the beauty of politics in Slytherin. IMHO your greatest achivement is the describtion (sp?) of those and the workings of the Slytherins' minds. The twins are interesting and a good way to point out some things to the reader. For my sake you don't need to cut down of the number of POVs. I can understand why it was suggested, but personally I like it multiple voices, escpecially when it comes to painting so broard a picture as you're doing here. But of course you should do what you find works ;) |
dismal day chapter 7 . 9/7/2002 I like the way you explain the contrasts between the different houses. Slytherin relationships are so much more intricate the way you tell them. I'm not sure I agree with Zebee about the cast list. From what I see, this story is going to be complex, and I don't think you should try and change that too much- I for one would like you to make this complicated(it is based on slytherins, after all). Perhaps you could include a list of the main characters, explaining who they are? Anyway, it's up to you. I'm looking forward to see what'll happen to Michel and Dominic - even with Luc's protection they're bound to find it hard in slytherin, especially if they insist on hanging around the 'golden griffindors'. I'm ashamed to admit to being slightly prejudiced in favour of the griffindors before reading this- please continue my education by writing more! |
Coesius chapter 7 . 9/7/2002 great story, very well written and with a strong plot. but I can't help but whine about how little Snape is in it. that is all I could find to complain about. other than that it's perfect. update soon! love, coesius |
Gwen chapter 1 . 9/7/2002 Wow. I really can't belive you've only had 3 reviews. Your story it's actually quite disturbing but I found amazing your decription of the Slyth's politicy. Good job! I'm looking forward your next chapter. |
emma chapter 3 . 9/7/2002 I think this has the potential to become a very good story. I enjoyed the meeting between Luc and Dirk for the first time, as well as your portrayl of the intricacies of slytherin house. When are we going to get some more Snape? I'm looking forward to it. |
Zebee chapter 6 . 8/20/2002 Interesting, although difficult to keep everyone apart. When setting up so many new characters, it's hard to keep the reader interested through what's really a catalogue of names and attributes. Maybe fewer of them, or introduced at wider spaced intervals, or with separate scenes with a few in each. Trouble is that's a book job, whereas what you want is a setup for a story. I suspect though, that the difficulty of the first few chapters, trying to keep everyone straight, is what's led to few reviews... I'm interested in the plotline, but I think it needs more pace, which it should get once you have got the castlist out of the way. That castlist is the weak point, how to help the reader keep them all straight if you plan to use them all. I think using them all is a bad idea, focus on 2 or 3 only. Zebee |
Lataradk chapter 6 . 8/20/2002 *looking over her shoulder in case she gets caught not working* Can't leave you with but one review, can I? Won't be a long one, though. I am falling head over heels for your story :) I love your take on the Slythetins and their complicated power structure. Most people don't (or won't) think that children can behave and feel like this, and I value those who dares go through with it. Luc's and Snape's relationship is quite interesting. Oh, and please do get inspiration from Hamilton - it's one of the better places to get it ;) |
Demeter1 chapter 2 . 8/13/2002 Interesting... I'm a particular fan of Slytherin, so I was intrigued by the name of this fic. At first, I had thought that it was the usual Gryffindor propaganda, intent on boo-hooing how sad that it was that Gryffie Aurors had died on the heroic battlefield. *snort* I'm glad that it wasn't, and that this is focused on the Slytherins. The so-called Marauder Years grates heavily, and I personally feel that it was all a sham of what was right. Sirius Black is a personal vendetta of mine. I would gladly feed *him* to the werewolf if it meant that Severus Snape was safe. As you can tell, Snape is my absolute favorite. _ Not another person can quite take his place... except perhaps the Slytherins as a whole. I like the characteristics of the Slytherins. Ostracized with nowhere to go. Railed against as the evil, as the hated... even when possibly, they're just doing what everyone else sneers they will do. Good job so far! Keep writing! |
