Well written. I like how you portray both Ziva and Tony. I'm not sure if it's exactly like in the show, mostly because I cannot imagine them having a conversation as frank and unveiled as the one in your story. But if they were a little more open and less cloak-and-dagger, I could picture them saying it. Does that make sense?

I really should watch the ep before I start reading tags... but I enjoyed this nonetheless. For me it's getting harder to write them (I'm just out of practice, i guess) so I'm always glad to read what I fail to express with my own writing.

And I just love those conversations you make them have... I know I say that every time, but that's how it is and your writing is always something special to me.

Good story although...I have to say it makes me dislike Tony.

He reminds me of those guys who run around on their significant others and when confronted with the fact says something like "but it was just sex, honey. It's you I love."

Okay my dear, hear me out, please. No, I don't see things that way, I don't think they're there yet. BUT. That does NOT mean I didn't enjoy this piece. I totally did. Because your writing is great, and the scene by itself is a good one, and I COULD see and hear them. Just... a few more months ahead, perhaps. In my head, they still need to go through some stuff, both alone and together, to get to a point where they can say all these things. But that's the only thing I disagree with here, just the timing. 'Kay? Okay.

"No. I am merely commenting on the fact that—" -that's like the MOST Ziva-like you could've made her. This is the most natural line ever to come out of Ziva's mouth.

"You think I *friendzoned* you?"
"Look—what are we?"
Best friends, he started to say, and then he froze.
He was beginning to see what she'd meant.
- Ziva confronting and shoving reality in Tony's face is so in character.

"Your point is weak," he shot back.
And then promptly felt guilty when she turned to look out of the window again and lifted her hand to her cheek, jerking it in a swiping motion.
"I know," she answered quietly.
He sighed. "What's this really about?"
"Nothing."
- My favorite part. Because this is a low blow, but she still choses to recognize the truth of that statement. And just, I dunno, her state of mind is very clear to me here, and I feel it in a very intense way.

"Of course I would do everything the same way, Ziva!" He slammed his hands against the steering wheel, accidently sounding the horn and making her jump. "What are you even thinking?"
- My second favorite part. Because it's awesome.

And I didn't expect them to make that jump in the end, but then I felt no other ending would make sense, at all. It had to be that way, and it was beautiful.

Ziva might be a tad OCC but not Tony. That's pretty much how he is written in canon - only after he's exhausted all other women will he be ready to man up to Ziva.

It amuses me that fan fic has to find ways to excuse his behavior so as to keep Tiva hopes alive.

i absolutely loved it. it might be a little ooc, but it was definitely imaginable and i am so hoping that exact conversation will take place! well done :)

Even though I did not get the feeling at all that Ziva really had an issue with Tony checking out the girls in bikinis in Prime Suspect, I still loved every bit of this! So well done! I always love your one-shots!

Heya Soph, been AWOL lately, sry but rest assured have been up to date with all your fics and LOVIN' them too. How are you? What are you up to now that you're done with school? I miss our discussions and thesis length PMs. :P RL has been very 'real' lately and well, fanfiction has been saving my sanity a bit.

I really liked this story, but at the same time am also kind rolling my eyes at the Tony here (much like I was at TV Tony). I like that Ziva braved the topic and went for it and once again Tony needed everything spelled out for him. I've been warming up to TV Tony lately (he's been a real grown up these past few months) but last week's episode sort of felt like they were reverting to 'old Tony', the flirty d-bag, then I realized it wasn't so old Tony considering he was doing the same with the decorator lady in the beginning of the season. The writers have been doing this hot-and-cold thing to us for years so sometimes I really don't know why I still hold out the hope that they'll happen.

I LOVED that you brought up what he said to her before she left for Israel. She let his whole 'couldn't live without you' line go years ago too, so it stands to reason that Tony says things during intense moments that he may not necessarily want to follow through later. I had a fascinating discussion a few months back with one of the authors here, can't remember which one now, who described it perfectly: she said that Tony hadn't meant to let Ziva know that when they were in Somalia and when they got back to DC, tried to revert to their old dynamic as much as possible including that of the insensitive, charming, ,flirtatious dude. While I buy that explanation, I can't excuse his treatment of her in S7 so am really hoping the writers don't do a 2.0 version of that this season. Now, onto your Tony, WTF jackass?! I can't even with his ridiculous statements to Ziva, basically asking her to wait for him while he goes off and sows his oats and grows the balls to approach her for a serious relationship. So she's supposed to just wait?! Argh! If you aren't ready just say so and move on and more importantly, LET HER GO. That has always been my biggest problem with their dynamic. He gets jealous when she's with someone else but when they're both single he rubs other women in her face. I think we've had many a discussion about this too, iirc.

Anyway, what was meant to be a short review has turned into a rambling rant. Really liked this story (all your recent ones as well, especially the one about the accident). Hope TV Tony isn't as big a jackass as he is here. Am relatively spoiler free for this show so please do tell, with a handful of episodes left any idea what's going to happen?
