I take it that Harry didn't think it was all that important to make sure he got together with his soulmate and that he could just leave it to chance that he or she wouldn't have an accident, get sick, or be attacked and killed by someone such as the still free Barty Crouch, Jr. Also, no point in making any money off the basilisk. And why should he care if all the death eaters guilty of rape, murder, torture, and maiming innocents, who he personally knew were walking about free, were not brought to justice but left alone to commit more atrocities at their whims. This Harry does learn through hard study but he is not of above average intelligence by any means. He is definitely doing less with more, in regard to resources. Giving the Goblins the Founders' objects is stunningly dimwitted, lazy, and inappropriate. I suspect Genevieve would toast to Harry's somewhat complete mission with a warm lite beer rather than chilled Dom Perignon.

I really like this version of the challenge! It would be fun to see more, but I see how you’ve wrapped up the conflict neatly. Thanks for sharing!

Is this it really? bugger.. i read long stories and short stories about this and are so much better. No telling hermione about it, no adventures, no dating, kissing whatever, no damn epilogue! (more so he has to hurry up considering ron but also krum 4th year)

Awesome. Loved it. Short to the point and yet, still fun to read.

"He could get the tiara with no difficulty, but how was he to destroy it without Gryffindor's sword?" What's the matter with Harry? Can't he just take the Diadem to the Chamber and pour Basilisk venom onto it? Surely the Basilisk is still there ... right?

Why doesn't he harvest the Basilisk. Then he would have plenty of money!

"So? Do you really see them working out in the long term? What, exactly, do they have in common other than you?"

Exactly! I am not a Harry/Ginny fan, but they have WAY more in common (up close and personal experience with Moldy; both love Quidditch and flying) than Ron and Hermione.

You think the way you should act around a wild animal is by slowly approaching it ? Since you are still alive to write this story I can only guess that you obviously never encounter any wild animal...
