There actually has been cases where suspects have escaped the interview room due to lack of supervision so if Harry wanted to you could have their be a scenario where they happen to place him at shift time when the Aurors change shifts and they have a miscommunication on who is watching over Harry. One case in Montana happened where a rape suspect was left alone in an interview room for 10 minutes during an officer shift change where communication was handled poorly in which each officer thought the other was watching him and he escaped out an unlocked interview room. Interview rooms unlike holding cells don't have locks on them which is why officers must remain on watch at all times. He escaped police several times from the moment he cut his electronic ankle bracelet and vanishing for a week when he was young and this time he did it while being handcuffed with a belly belt to the front and his legs shackled yet they never found him. Surprised they didn't charge him for stealing the shackles. While being arrested, McLane said Briggs assaulted an officer and resisted arrest. When Briggs was brought to the Law and Justice Center, he was placed in a belly belt with his hands cuffed in the front. He also had shackles placed on his legs. During this time, officers were changing shifts. Briggs was in an interview room awaiting a detective and that's when the miscommunication over who should have been with Briggs occurred, McLane said. |
