I am having some trouble managing coherency about this fic. I...this fic is absolutely amazing. The opening mechanic of "Spirit is -, Stein is -" is really really amazing, and I am entirely in love with the idea of one change in reaction restructuring the entire relationship of these two. These are my OTP to boot, which may be effecting my reaction as well, but I'm tearing up a little bit just /thinking/ about this fic, and the ending is really absolutely stunning and brought me to tears when I rarely cry about fics. Your writing is gripping and beautiful and elegant and the structure of this story in particular is /stunning/. I can't offer enough praise, but this is legitimately my favorite Stein/Spirit fic I've ever read. Just...wow.

I really, really enjoyed this chapter. Especially at the end where our favorite chain smoker tells Spirit, "smoking is bad for you." I also enjoy that this is written in present tense. It's a nice, refreshing change.

Lol, I love the way that Spirit reacted! I'm actually pretty interested in this, though I could honestly pass on self-harm unless it is Stein experimenting on himself. Looking forward to finding out.
