Damariobros chapter 32 . 4/29 I really want to see Petal get together with someone. I want to see Petal be healed. Maybe you can make another story that deals with that? Either way, the story has been wonderful. I really like the ships that are going on in this FanFiction and the author's notes are hilarious! I can tell you put a lot of time and effort into this, so great job! |
Zackeroni9 chapter 41 . 3/1 I'm just coming over to the original book (because I read this book off of Wattpad) to say great job on the book. I read this book over the course of a month, 47 hours total of reading time. I absolutely loved it. All the emotions got to me, I could feel the warmth, and I could put my mind in the mindset of the characters. It was very enjoyable and thumbs up to you for such an amazing story. As the book is, it seems like there's just something missing from it, or maybe it's just that it's been left off in a place that would be perfect for a second book. I don't know if you've gotten requests to write a second story, but I would highly recommend it if you're looking for something to do. This book has really opened up my eyes in the world of not only fanfiction writing, but stories and writing in general. It has shown me that it's fine to have breaks from the main part of the story, just for fun parts. Also that it's fine to have multiple stories happening throughout it. It's helped me understand how to be more descriptive in writing and how it's important to express completely how any character is feeling at a given moment. I definitely will be coming back to this story for reference, and maybe I'll create a fanfiction of this fanfiction. |
Guest chapter 42 . 12/7/2019 Please write a book 2 of Thunder and Ice. PLEASE! |
GamerWingy chapter 42 . 10/5/2019 This was the best story I ever read, fabrication or otherwise. This will forever have a special place in my heart, and I thank you so much for writing such a touching story. Don't ever stop writing... |
Guest chapter 42 . 9/25/2019 I don't know if you still use this or even remember this account, because apparently last thing you uploaded was a bit over 3 years ago, but who knows you might see this, I just wanted to say, I finally finished reading Thunder and Ice, now the ending isn't really what I expected, talking about actual story not special ending chapter, but even when it ended I had immediately felt a lot of emotions and almost immediately reminiscing some parts of the story, your story was awesome and has actually made an impact for me, I'm a passionate reading and really trying to get into writing and your book is one I can say I absolutely enjoyed, I got so caught up in it, I felt all different emotions and I felt like I was on a rollercoaster, you have inspired me a lot with your book, I mean it and so I hope to see even more of your books because even if you haven't improved since now I would say your at the top still and will always to read what you write, so yeah I'm really glad that it worked out in the end but at the same time see it have to end, but who knows you said some things but it's up to you to continue or not, so yeah again thank you a lot for making such a great book and bringing me on a journey, also if you do end up reading this sorry if I just jumbled a lot together and end up making no sense, I just have a lot to say that's hard to express, so yeah I really appreciate you and your book you created and again I can't really explain how much it has done to me and I love it. ~from a random person who absolutely loves your book |
Guest chapter 1 . 2/11/2019 Goodeo job! |
Inky Zoro Ark chapter 42 . 1/29/2019 Shadow, I just want to say, you are a GODDESS! This story you have written has inspired me to write stories as well! Including my own Jolteon x Glaceon fanfic! Hope you read it soon! Now I better go before Bolt uses her- *gets zapped by the Thunder move and melts to his neck* A |
Ant4456 chapter 42 . 1/7/2019 I would have had less times where the main characters lose in fights... actually how many times did Thunder and Shard lose? And IMO those are the only two that count as the front role so, so taking into account selfish opinions I wanted much nore on them. I also thought that the whole Luxray thing was a arc for like, 30 chapters. Jeez that was dragged out. |
Gingerkitty5 chapter 23 . 12/6/2018 love it GLACEONXJOLTEON 4 DAYZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ (Also im a HUGE espeonxumbreon fan, HATE SYLVEON!) |
MrBeast9000 chapter 42 . 10/25/2018 MAKE A MAting Season |
Forestfleet chapter 41 . 5/24/2018 Chapter 36: Black Heart Prediction: This either concerns Lobo and Ruby, or Thunder's darkening nature. Main Events/Summary: -Aqua is stuck with Ruby. -Aqua eventually escapes after watching Ruby thrill-kill. -Aqua bumps into Fawn, with Fawn explaining her backstory. -Aqua goes back to the cave. -Aqua wonders if Ruby is actually a monster, and Ruby confirms she has a black heart. Personal Thoughts: I think Ruby's easily one of the more damaged characters here. Copper's death is shocking. Out of all the characters, it's one of the ones in a couple, and furthermore, a child. This has gone dark. Only six left. Chapter 37: Patched Pasts Prediction: Ruby and Thunder will think about their pasts. Main Events/Summary: -Thunder thinks about what he did to Shard. -Thunder tells Dandelion he loves Shard -Dandelion soon apologizes after a while, and admits all she wants was to never be alone. -Thunder and Dandelion go to sleep, but Thunder's awoken by Petal. -Petal and Thunder start searching -Thunder and Petal bump into Fang and Star and Scarlet -Thunder notices Faolan, and tells everyone time to scram. -Thunder asks Scarlet what's going on, meanwhile Petal's collapsing, therefore Thunder has to force her to rest, also Thunder may have mentioned Faolan's name. -Petal is left alone while Faolan comes. -Lobo is the new Faolan, and attacks Petal -Then Faolan kills Lobo, and Petal calls him Pine, and he asks if she's moon -Apparently Faolan only worshipped Darkrai because everything sucks, but now he's back since he beat Blunder up in battle -"What about you attacking me?" "Oh, yeah, that was a rash decision. Also I hit on your sister." "Oh, cool-WAIT THAT IS NOT COOL!" -And now Faolan's a hero. Personal Thoughts: The interesting things about this chapter is the nature of redemption. Dandelion and Faolan, two characters who seemed like villains, admit to doing the wrong thing. That includes Petal's who admits maybe she's a bit bad too. So now all that leaves is Ruby. Chapter 38: Eye of the Hailstorm Prediction: Scarlet tells the story, while Thunder finds Aqua and confronts Ruby - probably without a fight. If there is, then Faolan's joining. The eye of the hailstorm is also the calmest part, so maybe it'll ironically be calm. Main Events/Summary: -Scarlet tells how her friends wanted to explore the Frosty Hills -Copper and Scarlet get lost in a cave. -Ruby appears, and attacks, and Copper sacrifices himself to save Scarlet -Shard finds herself where her parents were killed -Aqua doesn't think Ruby's that bad. -Thunder comes to fight Ruby, and Ruby uses Aqua as a hostage. Good thinking, kid. Points to Ruby for remembering how to manipulate others. That was genius. -Ruby beats up Thunder with Aqua. No, Aqua does not help Ruby. Ruby literally picks up Aqua and bashes Aqua and Thunder's skulls together. -Wait a second, where are all the generals? Shouldn't there be four Legendaries trying to help out? -To save everybody, Shard comes in, uses Ice Beam, and learns how to use Hail. -Ruby knocks Shard out -Shard wakes up to Ruby healing her, before Ruby collapses and says everything is because of her. Personal Thoughts: I think emotionally this is one of the most gripping chapters. I was expecting Faolan and Petal to save the day. I was somewhat afraid maybe they'd come in time for Shard to not have to fight. But there was a fight. I think Ruby will never stop being interesting to me. She was able to betray Aqua, right when it seemed like Ruby had a morality pet. The prose has evolved so much, that I feel wrapped up in this drama so much, and all these emotions and feelings of absolute weakness. This is gonna be great. It's gonna end wonderfully. Chapter 39: An Innocent Shinx Prediction: We learn about Ruby's past. I sure hope Ruby doesn't die. That would suck. Main Events/Summary: -This chapter starts in flashback, with Ruby talking about how Tai took her in when her father couldn't care for her in a demented state since Ruby's mom is dead. -Ruby's mostly alone since not even her adopted brother Lobo likes her. -Ruby attacks Shard and Shard beats the crud out of her. Okay, only pins her, but it's ironically hilarious. Ruby learns her prey has emotions and feeling too. Shard wins at the end of the story, while not technically winning at the end of the timeline of the story. -No seriously, if this had an abridged series, there'd be at least one time where Shard would mention how scary Ruby is and someone would bring up, "But remember that one time your pounced her and made her into your bit-" -Ruby's mom and Shard's mom interrupt, but Tai gets an idea to have Ruby have a playdate with Shard. -Shard pounces Ruby a SECOND time, seriously, and then tickles her with a flower. -Then Shard's realizing Ruby's mom's been gone a bit and Ruby's like saying, "That's because of Lobo." -Shard talks to Ruby about a black heart, or one made of obsidian, and mentions how one happens with a legend involving a Wild Murkrow Appearing to attack a poor little pidgey. -Concluding, Shard says that Oliver turned pure evil with a black heart. "It can't end there, can it!?" "Nah, there's more, and they get all happy again and stuff, or maybe they die like in the ugly barnacle, you know?" "That doesn't make me feel better!" -Ruby and Shard figure out they must heal each others' scars when they come by, and then they decide to play more games and Ruby gets to be THUNDER the LUXRAY, while Shard is a glaceon, but she doesn't wanna be a Glaceon. -Shard thinks she should be a Jolteon of all things and Ruby says she'd be a happy, cute Glaceon. -Shard thinks she should be Frosty, then they think about Ice as in Thunder and Ice and Shard's like thinking, "Wait a minute, that sounds familiar." -Tai kicks Ruby awake and she tells her not to ruin Lobo's day off otherwise she's not witness a second sunrise with "her tail on her backside" as opposed to... her nose? I get the idea of what she actually means, but that qualifier kinda puts that thought in your head. -Later, Ruby finishes chores only to find Lobo and Shard together and Ruby worries what Lobo will do to Shard's golden heart. -Lobo comes back one day after Shard doesn't make out with him and he says Phantom and Gem tried to kill him. So Tai calls him out on his bs, but she's like thinking, "they should be removed..." -Ruby has rebelled and Tai says she a runt. -Ruby asks Lobo what did happen and Lobo says its all over a kiss. Personal Thoughts: This is the best chapter I've read so far, but all of them keep getting better. Black heart as symbology is only introduced a few chapters ago but it adds in to the general feel of the entire story. Black hearts link to all bad characters in this story, or how everyone who is evil is damaged. Wittiness pervades the aura of the chapter with many nods towards the future of the story with Shard saying she'd rather not be a Glaceon while Ruby gets the name Thunder. Perhaps that's partially why they like him so much. Ruby has always been one of the more interesting characters in this story, and it shows. This explains and completes her as a character: Why she manipulates, how she learned, how she learned how to fight and kill. My main issue is that the LUxray Clan is seemingly prideful of good reputation, but from the sounds of it, they shouldn't have a good reputation, only Ruby. Probably will get explained in the next chapter. Chapter 40: An Imperfect Luxray Prediction: Probably explains Ruby's story more, or might have Ruby and Shard talk. Main Events/Summary: -Ruby watches her clan rip apart Shard's family. -Lobo says, "Mom, can I see and go out so I can find Shard?" "Oh, that's okay honey, but be back for lunch." -Ruby approaches Shard, and Shard for one does not beat her up but instead tells her to go away, for being bad. -Ruby has the pleasure of going back to her clan to find that her dad, Kage the Luxray, has killed some other Luxray. -Kage and Ruby bond a bit after guards torture Kage for information where he says that he messed up with what he's done so far. -Luxray Clan execute Kage a bit. Only a bit. -Oh, and Ruby's mom is named Thunder which is a bit fun. -Ruby grows up as a killer and soon finds Shard has a new family with "Moon" and Ruby is pissed and attacks only to run when Shard's family comes to see what is going on. -Back to present with Ruby thinking about how she hurt everyone and that it was partially because of her sick addiction to power and control. -Ruby has to manage the act of not killing someone while thinking about what she's done and tells Shard so. -Shard and Ruby seem like they're about to redeem Ruby until Ruby runs away... for good? -Ruby thinks what has to happen is that she has to die for being a beast. Personal Thoughts: That's... man can I say that Ruby is a bit mad. What I can say is that I liked the second half more as the first half somewhat feels like stuff we already know about and the only new thing was Shard and Ruby finding that chance to meet up again, plus that parallel with Ruby and her dad when Ruby attacks Shard out of jealousy, oh, and pain. Chapter 41: The Setting Sun Prediction: What I know is that this is the end and technical last part of Thunder and Ice, so what I think is that they'll stop Ruby from killing herself and try to work out the last pieces in some way, that has to be majorly hard. Main Events/Summary: -Shard tries to collect everything and think about what's gone on as everyone is coming back to. -Pack finds Fawn and does not tell her a thing. -Shard and Thunder talk to Thunder's family about what has happened with Shard promising to not let Thunder go and Thunder promising to not leave his mom like Solar did. -"Okay, so sorry about letting a few damn murderers loose and stuff, guys," a general says. "Okay, so now no more Luxrays that are from the Luxray clan, and any we find we will kill and that's good." -Okay, so Shard tells Keldeo about Ruby and what he says is basically: "WAit, Rubae the Luxray? I am such a fanboy that you don't even want to know what I did to my posters of that darling-" "Okay, moving on!" What happens is they get about five sunrises to bring her back to that platform. -Faolan seeks redemption from Shard and Thunder and both accept that. -Faolan runs off to a different area and Petal thinks about moving with him -Shard tells Petal that if she wants to go with Faolan, go with Faolan, And follow Arceus' light, and stuff like that. -Shard has been searching for Ruby for several days and so what Thunder says is that Ruby is probably long gone about now, and Shard gives up on that search as she thinks about all the times she's had until now, bad and good. -Shard and Thunder have their touching moment, but Shard wants to walk in the dark a bit. -Shard finds Ruby having committed an act that could have been a suicide, but hasn't as Ruby can't do it. Shard and Ruby talk, and Ruby asks to be known as Sun, and both start anew as Ruby goes and Shard takes her out of the forest to somewhere she can be without any fear and that. Personal Thoughts: I can't say much on this that I won't say in my final review so that's that for a bit. Chapter 42: Extras - Star's Spectacular Prediction: Fluff? Main Events/Summary: -Star's Spectacular Personal Thoughts: I can say that this was amusing and I know that I will do a full review tomorrow or the next day. Thank you. |
Rekad chapter 1 . 3/1/2018 Hello. There is repeated part where the action takes place after he runs through the sand. Few sentences are completely the same in two paragraphs. |
Forestfleet chapter 37 . 2/11/2018 Chapter 32: Lonely Moon on a Dark Night Prediction: We're likely getting Ruby back. And this almost certainly has something to do with a Dark-Type. I wonder if Darkrai will appear here, considering his connection to the moon, and darkness. Main Events/Summary: -Petal rants about how Thunder suck. "I hate men. I can't abide them..." -Petal takes a walk in her sickly state, gets stuck in the dark night from exhaustion. -Shard calls Petal Moon in a hide-and-seek flashback -Petal hides only to encounter a Pokemon that sounds slightly like an Electrike. But his name isn't Faolan so it's up in the air a bit. -Petal continues thinking about how her friend Pine couldn't be seen hanging out with her because his dad was a battle-crazy... Nidoking? What in the world is this guy, then? When he was first introduced I thought he might've been a Leafeon, which could explain why Moon/Petal wanted to be a Leafeon afterwards until she found out he was bad. Then I thought he was an Electrike. Now I have no idea what he is... And that's not that bad. -Petal also admits her father is a credit to his sex. -Pine tells Moon she should be Petal instead becasue she should like nature and she does and she's not at all cut out for being an Umbreon. Maybe a Vaporeon. -Moon eventually goes to meet Pine at his home. -Pine's too busy fighting with his dad and Moon catches his attention. "Petal, I don't want to see your pog collection!" -Anyway, they run off, and Pine offers her comfort later, but he's having a rough day, somewhat like she is with Shard's parents dying. Also, Pine's dad shouts his real name. -Petal catches up to Pine to apologize, but finds Pine's dad dead along with several Luxrays. -Pine is Faolan. I thought so, but I figured the only chance was either adoption, or the mother. -Also, Faolan attacks Petal. -Petal notices two sneaky figures, probably Luxrays, and chases them. Personal Thoughts: AndIdidthinkaboutmoonreferringtoacharacternamedMoonbutscrewit. This chapter has a lot of moments where I'm thinking one thing, then I go 'nah, probably not', and it's revealed it is. Some sort of misdirection where you know almost absolutely, then realize you're wrong, only to find out you weren't. Probably best chapter in plot twists and ideas. I expected more Ruby from the author's notes. Faolan's grown into the most interesting villain. He's been forcefully raised into a fighter, yet still admires nature and is wise, once had a friend, only to see his dead father. So he continues onwards, fighting, and also he's become a Darkrai-ist. Eventually he evolves. Also he meets Thunder and fights him, and continues on to the tournament. Also, also, at some point he sees Shard and falls in love with her, meaning he hasn't lost his gentle, more loving side. This chapter ruins my ship: Ruby X Faolan. Also, Pine X Moon could probably be something like DarkNatures since both like nature and both are dark, and Petal finds out about Faolan's dark nature. Chapter 33: A Bitter Reunion Prediction: We're gonna continue that chase on the Luxrays. Also, because of the title, either Petal will meet Faolan again, or ThunderShard meets Ruby again. Main Events/Summary: -Ruby and Lobo have a Feral potion. -Lobo wonders what it does, and Ruby says, "You ever watched Zootopia?" -Shard and Thunder are relaxing, about to netflix and chill... -Lobo and Ruby appear outta nowhere and Lobo tries to pin Thunder while Ruby plays with Shard. In a cat-and-prey way. "Hey Shard, wanna Cat and Prey?" -Petal appears to the rescue. -Thunder and Lobo fight. "Thunder, don't put salt in your eyes." "Put salt in my eyes!" -Lobo is winning because Thunder sucks against fellow Electric-Types. -Lobo pins him. -Thunder has one last plan. Personal Thoughts: More intense chapter. The two antagonists come back, and its a fresh breath of air after all the fluff. I think Lobo and Ruby will win. Chapter 34: Discord Prediction: Thunder gets turned feral, while Petal and Shard fend off Ruby. Main Events/Summary: -Thunder uses Shadow Ball and it shatters the vial on Lobo. -Lobo goes insane and fights. -Thunder gets Shard to safety while Petal goes and fights off both Luxrays. -Eventually someone calls for Thunder's name. A family member? -Yep, it's Aqua, and Lobo tries to attack her, but Petal saves her, only to get downed. -Also Ruby kidnaps her. Personal Thoughts: The problem with most of the paragraphs is how long they are and how much description. To the point where I was wondering if I missed something because I felt myself glazing over most of the information. It has a good dramatic potential. I was wondering how the story could possibly continue on when this felt like the final confrontation, only to bring out Aqua. There's also how Petal is awesome. The girl's sick and she's still capable of fighting to some degree, even if she's downed in the end. I doubt she's been killed. Chapter 35: Losing Faith Prediction: They're gonna try to save Aqua, while dealing with Lobo. Main Events/Summary: -Shard wakes up and is met by Thunder's dad while Dandelion is yelling at him. -"You shouldn't have let Aqua go out alone!" "This place has changed you!" "Stop changing the topic!" "Sorry, I don't speak stupid!" -Shard is introduced to the family. -Dandelion, in private, tells Shard that Thunder hates wilds, and that he wasn't born in Maplewood, and quite a few other things. -Shard confronts Thunder, and he's like, "No!" "I mean, it's not that bad-" "No!" "It's okay!" "NO!" -And then he shocks her. Personal Thoughts: I suppose this chapter refers to the idea of losing faith in someone, and I'm glad that finally some of the problems in the Sharunder relationship are getting revealed. While reading, I was constantly thinking about how Shard and Thunder aren't so great for each other. It felt too much like they only knew the superficial traits, and now we have Shard confronting him over secrets, and he attacks her. Chapter 36: Black Heart Prediction: This either concerns Lobo and Ruby, or Thunder's darkening nature. |
Forestfleet chapter 31 . 2/10/2018 Chapter 26: Pranks and Illusions Prediction: Star's gonna play some tricks. Main Events/Summary: -Petal is sick and - ohmygod she's instantly best character. -Star's gonna confess to Fang how she feels at the Festival. -Star meets Fang and bites him in his sleep. -They head out to the volunteer center, where they find Skylar and Falcon fighting. -Star and Fang try to prank Skylar and Falcon. Star's gonna get beaten up by Virizion. -They're working up their prank. Personal Thoughts: Bratty characters like Star tend to fall into two different flavors. Either they need a good spanking, or they're hilarious (but still totally need that good spanking). Characters like Fang tend to come in two flavors: Adorable but annoying, or annoying but adorable - there's a subtle difference. Star and Fang had lost my respect with the dream manipulation, simply because they're trying to force a ship to happen. It's one thing to prank someone by attacking their dreams, but to try and coerce them to love someone else, seems at least a little immoral. So it comes as a shock to me that they're easily the best ship. Both bounce off each other's characterizations, and I feel like there's a genuine connection. No one has to tell me they're a great match. I can see that already. And this is probably what makes a good relationship. They're 50% the same, and 50% different, and that's what matters. Chapter 27: Hard Work Prediction: Hard work from Star and Fang has an outcome, but probably won't work in their favor. Main Events/Summary: -The duo gets up a tree, and Scurry comes. -Fang gets wrapped up and they both fall down, so all five Pokemon get wrapped up. They're gonna get beaten up. -Then Virizion comes. Star asks how she's doing and Virizion's like, "I'm gonna beat you so hard you'll spit out your belly button you little punk." -Fang and Star, having undergone hard work (oh, now I get the chapter title!) wonder if what they did was worth it. -They decide to go into the Great Seqouias, and explore the room of their leaders. -Star prepares to confess to Fang. -They enter the room, take some berries, and Fang does the stupid thing and eats an entire Cheri. Spicy. -Star confesses -Fang accepts. Personal Thoughts: Still a great friendship/romance, and I'm glad the plan didn't work as intended but still had a satisfactory conclusion. Perhaps my favorite two chapters insofar. Chapter 28: Spring Festival Prediction: It's the start of the Spring Festival. Might focus on Thunder and Shard. I somewhat predict all of the four-part arc focuses on each romance. Main Events/Summary: -Shard beats up her boyfriend with a berry, and they decide to leave Frosty Hills because that place is cursed today. -Fang and Star tackle Shard -There's a race at Silver Pond (new location!) that requires four volunteers that aren't Electric or Water ("We don't like your kinds around here!"), and Star and Fang join. -Fang wins -Thunder and Shard go to the Cedar Square, and see the Swords -The Swords are autographing every volunteer, also they meet their birdie friends. -Afterwards they bump into Fawn, and take her to her tribe. Personal Thoughts: I like the small touch of why there isn't any attractions at Frosty Hills. I've always said the worldbuilding is one of the best things about this fic, and that's a minor bit of realism that adds to it. Moments like these are reasonable. Sometimes there are imperfections when it comes to designing things. Then there's the matter of how certain Pokemon simply can't join certain things, which adds this annoying, but understandable sense of fairness. Like I said before, I predict each chapter correlates to a romance. This would be Shard and Thunder's chapter, meanwhile the next is likely about Fawn and Copper. I realized the most important thing of this chapter, and perhaps the next few: It establishes our new status quo: Thundershard and Starfang are both currently things. Everybody's having fun. It's like Ruby and the plot haven't happened and everyone's enjoying themselves for now. Chapter 29: Spring Festival II Prediction: It will be about Fawn and Copper. Main Events/Summary: -Shard and Thunder eat with the Fennekins -Summer, the mother of Fawn, tells Fawn to stop being a brat when Thunder and Shard are getting romantic. -Thunder and Shard watch a battle, while Shard's slightly unnerved.. -Thunder finds out Faolan is going on to semi-finals in a tournament at a cliff, and thinks about how strong Faolan must be. Well at least he didn't lose to a wimp. -Shard, for once, does not cry, despite Thunder being so nice to her. -Faolan does not get creamed, and goes on to the finals. -They eventually decide to go to a crowded Ninetales Cafe. They eat, they talk, they move on. Personal Thoughts: Not much happens in this chapter. I guess that's the whole point of the arc: For everyone to have some fluff before things get deep. I'll admit, it's cute. Also, I suppose my earlier prediction was incorrect. Now it's time for the next couples. Chapter 30: Spring Festival III Prediction: More romance. Main Events/Summary: -Star and Fang pull a prank -Star and Fang bump into Blunder's family -We meet back with Lily -And Lily gets annoyed by Skylar again. -Fawn and Copper participate in an event Personal Thoughts: I'm surprised Thunder's family turns up in this chapter, simply because they seemed like such throwaway characters. It didn't help that Thunder never talked about them, but now they're finally back, here for their son, for some reason. Perhaps a good one. Star and Fang are once again a great couple. It's interesting to see Lily again because Lily rarely shows up, and it feels a lot like you have to get a romance to earn your place in this fic. I still feel like we barely know her. It's hard to hit every opportunity, mayhaps impossible, but a lot could be done with her trainer abandonment that I hope gets talked about in later chapters. Chapter 31: Spring Festival IV Prediction: Main Events/Summary -Fawn and Copper do a blind race, with Copper leading her. -Fawn gets attacked by a Blitzle, so she attacks back, and soon enough she gets nearly electrocuted and both get kicked out. -Falcon and Skylar battle in the Tournament at the Cliff. -Falcon throws the match, and Skylar confronts him, but she continues on and gets owned by an Electric-Type, while Falcon relaxes. -Hunter is with Falcon, Falcon is creepy. -Hunter goes outside, meets Lily, and they both are about to go lady and the tramp, before he retires for the night. Personal Thoughts: Since we're ending an arc, this review session has six chapters instead of the usual five (but that means the next one will only have four.) Fawn's part is great. Her hot-headedness contrasts with Copper's nicely, and the fact she fights back makes her interesting. I love her proactiveness, how she's constantly starting things instead of reacting to the incoming events. I approve of how realistically the situation gets handled. For a brief moment, I thought maybe after the electrocution attempt, that Fawn would have been revealed to have crossed the finish line either way, but it's not some type of fairy tale ending. Instead, both parties get booted out, and this is a more natural, and daresay a more mature way of handling the situation since both did wrong. Summer threatening to ground her is the cherry on top, along with Copper saying that stooping to Blitzle's level won't help anyone. Falcon's part is good. He's not the most interesting character usually, so getting him in the spotlight affords a different perspective, and his perspective on Skylar proves to be an interesting male-female relationship in the fic without being a romantic relationship. In fact, it's surprising when Falcon outright dismisses the idea of romance, and even says she's the closest thing he's had to a sibling. Which is hard to believe since they've always seemed to talk about each other like they only met, but I'll give that a pass for now. Hunter's part is interesting. We don't learn much about either rodent, and it's surprising to find that apparently neither rodent was originally meant to be shipped. What we do find out about is the others, and how Petal hates men and it likely has to do with Lobo, and the men who dumped her. That even goes so far as to explain why she distrusts Thunder so much. Not even because she's timid and easily scared, but Thunder is not only an Electric-Type, he's also dating Shard. Petal probably sees Thunder as a second Lobo, and you cannot blame Petal for being overprotective. Once again, Petal is, in fact, best character. This is probably the best chapter of the Spring Festival. |
Forestfleet chapter 25 . 1/25/2018 Chapter 21: Realization Prediction: Thunder finally figures out he has feelings for Shard. Main Events/Summary: -Thunder's taking care of Shard. -For a group of boys, Thunder's friends like talking about how 'cute a couple' Fang and Star is. I don't know girls in high school who actually do that, much less boys. -Thunder thinks while guarding Shard. -Thunder realizes he loves Shard. -Shard wakes up, and Thunder walks her home, and along the way, realizes she likes him too... And he thinks about Ruby coming for her but let's that slide. Personal Thoughts: No, seriously, leave her with a body guard. Take her to your den. Don't leave her in her own den! I figure the romantic subplot of Thunder and Shard is gonna go further next chapter. The next step is admitting to it. Chapter 22: Xatu Prediction: A Xatu becomes important somehow for guidance. Main Events/Summary: -Back to Ruby. She got kicked out. -Ruby talks to a Xatu -Xatu tells her what she needs for a potion. -After she walks away, Xatu talks to Star and Fang. -Star and Fang were causing the dreams of memories? Personal Thoughts: When the whole dreaming about someone else's memories things was mentioned, I thought 'oh, well that might explain a few things'. At first, I thought it was from Darkrai. This explanation makes little sense. How can Fang and Star be behind all of this, when neither of them should even know about Thunder getting there? Let's not forget that their dreams were before Fang and Star were a couple, and before Thunder and Shard were getting shipped. Actually, this is low-key horrific. They are getting into the mind of their friends, forcing them to dream of dreams, some of which aren't particularly pleasant. And they're doing this to force them to fall in love with each other. Chapter 23: Three Simple Words Prediction: Someone, probably Thunder, says "I love you". Or it's Shard to Thunder. Or both to both. Main Events/Summary: -Thunder makes a plan of seduction for his Shard. -Petal accidentally stumbles on Thunder, and he looks like he's about to attack, and she does to, (but Thunder's like "Nah, she's not a threat"), but Petal screams, and Shard comes out. And Petal's all like, "Your future boyfriend keeps staring at you." "Oh, no, that's fine, I do the same thing with him while he's sleeping." -They get to Ninetales cafe, and the Vulpix asks if they'll share, and Thunder says, "Yes! We will share! And then we will get a plate of spaghetti and do the noodle kiss like the two dogs in the disney movie! And then we will go to Silver Falls and GET! IT! PUMPING!" Shard's like, "No." -After a bit, they leave for the Silver Falls. -Faolan's at Silver Falls, and ruins Thunder's plans, because he's there, and laughing eerily and showing everyone his pog collection, and it's all a huge mess. -They go to Orchard Hillside -Thunder admits he's in love with Shard. Personal Thoughts: I sure hope no one's reading my Main Events/Summary section seriously. Some people like me read the reviews before we read the fic. Onto more pressing matters, it seems the ThunderShard arc is complete. Or Sharunder as it apparently is called. I suppose the reason Chapter 22 exists is to have something to explain the continuation of the story, otherwise I feel like it would end here. Especially since it does feel like the ending. Both have admitted to their love for each other. A weakness of the POV shifts is that we only got to see it from Shard's side. Otherwise the scene would have to be repeated. I figure this story will now go from romance to more action-oriented when we get to Ruby's drama. Chapter 24: Broken Silence Prediction: This will be after they get together, and now they have to figure out what to say, while other drama goes on in the background. Main Events/Summary: -Thunder dreams of Shard evolving. -Finally Thunder's back with his friends. -Falcon reveals he interrupted their kiss. -Shard's with her friends. -Petal doesn't believe in true love. -Star falls from a tree. Personal Thoughts: Petal not believing in true love makes me like her a lot more. It seems like everyone's been calling ThunderShard a perfect couple, and it's nice that someone who isn't an antagonist finally says, "Probably not that perfect." It's also nice for the groups to be back together. It feels like most of the friends get shafted to the side, besides Fang and Star sometimes, and that's only because they're a couple. Petal is clearly one of, if not Shard's best friend. They were sisters. Short and substantial chapter. Maybe now everyone will lighten up a bit and maybe Petal develops more. Seeing how many friends Shard and Thunder have, I think the next relationships are possible: Falcon X Skylar, Hunter X Petal (unlikely) or Hunter X Lily (a little more likely since they're both mice), and Petal X someone. And also Ruby X Faolan seems possible to me. Chapter 25: Announcements Prediction: Maybe the Generals become important again and we see the Sequoias. Looking at future chapter titles, it will likely be about the Spring Festival. Main Events/Summary: -The Generals are giving an announcement. -Keldeo blasts Loudred off stage. -The Swords announce a Spring Festival, while telling Summer and Winter to screw off. -Thunder invites Shard. -Fawn comes and reveals that Ruby scratched her. Personal Thoughts: When I first saw the chapter titles "Spring Festival", I thought the story would be building up to it, and instead it's announced only three chapters before it happens. This isn't something I like or dislike, as much as something that merely interested me. |
