Guest chapter 27 . 8/18 I love this story. I've been reading it since I was fourteen. I was so excited when you started updating again, I can't wait to read the last three chapters! |
Guest chapter 27 . 6/3 I am so glad I stumbled upon this story again. I loved it when I read it the first time and it's been an absolute treat so see you adding new chapters. So so so lovely so see you updating once again. Please don't keep us in suspense for too long! |
Natalie Rushman chapter 27 . 5/26 And now I'm all caught up! I like your take on the movie. The extra scenes you pop in are really nice, and I like seeing the thoughts behind the actions we see in the movie - like Thorin's rationale for leaving Kili behind. I can't wait to see how you end this! |
Natalie Rushman chapter 26 . 5/25 Neat take! I like the way you're combining book and movie cannons. I thought the way you did the spiders scene was especially good. I thought it was cool the way they did it in the movie, but I was disappointed that they didn't show the dwarves having any kind of reaction to the venom. And the interaction between Thranduil and Kili was so cool here! I'd never imagined the two of them in the same scene. Very interesting X) |
Natalie Rushman chapter 25 . 5/24 Nicely done! I like the in-between scenes - especially the one about the pony in the river. I read the Hobbit recently, and I was kinda bummed that they didn't include that in the movie. I thought it'd be a good scene, but it didn't even make it into the extended edition ;( It was great to see it here! I liked what you did with it. |
Natalie Rushman chapter 24 . 5/24 I really loved that moment between Thorin and Dwalin! And it was good to get some resolution on the Fili vs Thorin argument. Nicely handled ;) |
Natalie Rushman chapter 23 . 5/23 I wondered how that would all go down! I'm curious now to see what convinces them they need another burglar... Great chapter! I'm glad they're sticking together. |
Natalie Rushman chapter 22 . 5/22 This is great. The part at night where Kili promised to follow him was really perfect, you did that so well. And I love seeing everything come together! Curious to see what will change to make eight companions thirteen. That should be interesting... |
Natalie Rushman chapter 21 . 5/22 Nicely done! The dialogue in this chapter is great :) |
Natalie Rushman chapter 20 . 5/20 So cute X) |
Natalie Rushman chapter 19 . 5/19 Nice one! As always, I loved the way they all took care of each other. Fili and Kili are really starting to come into their own :) I liked the little brotherly moment between Dwalin and Balin, too, that was nice. The soul-bonding concept was really interesting - I'm intrigued to see what you do next! |
Natalie Rushman chapter 18 . 5/18 LOVED when Dwalin said he "didn't like that part of his ear" - lol! He's perfect X) This chapter was really good. I love seeing the boys taking care of each other, and Thorin getting shoved back in the right direction by Dwalin is always the best. In fact, Dwalin was pretty fantastic here, throughout. |
Natalie Rushman chapter 17 . 5/17 Poor Fili! He's a really cute, emotional drunk. Kili takes good care of him. I don't know that Balin's plan's any good though. It sounds an awful lot like what Fili was trying to do not too long ago, and we all saw how THAT went... I DO get where he's coming from, though. Thorin doesn't want to make them targets. I just feel like there have to be better ways of accomplishing that. But then, Balin did say himself that they all weren't the best or brightest X) Fili and Kili are really sweet together. I like seeing them take care of each other. |
Natalie Rushman chapter 16 . 5/16 It's nice to see it turned around a little and have Kili looking after Fili. They're adorable together X) I love that Fili was goofing around. That would be how it'd go, wouldn't it? Kili gets hurt throwing himself at something, stupidly brave, and Fili gets hurt just trying to make somebody laugh - lol. I cannot judge. It was cool to see a glimpse of Fili's sense of humor though...I feel like we've seen a lot of his sense of duty, his courage, and his devotion to his family, but not so much about his sense of humor. I really think it's wonderful that he was out training, and he decided it would be fun to goof around to make somebody else laugh. That last line just about killed me, though - "We go together or not at all" - DAMN. |
Natalie Rushman chapter 15 . 5/15 Nicely done! I love supportive Thorin X) And Fili having nightmares for a change was actually a really sweet scene - Kili was so cute trying to figure out what to do to help him. I like the bit at the end about Nori. It's interesting to think what those skill sets could have been used for prior to the movies - I'd never thought about it! |
