Persephone Lupin chapter 13 . 8/24/2014 excellent read! and very much in character! |
SIGASLSAREHC chapter 13 . 7/21/2013 Wonderful, this fits in so well with ASOIAF universe! |
The Readers Muse chapter 13 . 5/12/2013 I loved this, a very in character study of Sandor's thoughts during this period. Well done! |
Once Beautiful and Brave chapter 13 . 5/11/2013 Very nice! I just gulped down all 13 chapters in one sitting. I love how beautifully you've bridged the time between Sandor leaving King's Landing and his capture by the Huntsman. Your Sandor is very much in character and you have a deft hand at both prose and dialogue. Brava! |
Sleepydog chapter 13 . 3/30/2013 Woah. Great story. This really builds a fine bridge between the POVs where Sandor appears. Hahaha, kudos to you, emmiemac, I really enjoyed this (like a lot of your other stories). Thank you for sharing! |
LadyTP chapter 13 . 3/27/2013 Wow, this story was something indeed! A snippet of the life of the Hound, a peek inside his head. Loved his characterisation and the description of the harsh reality in which he lives, as barren and bleak as it was! And his thoughts on Sansa...perfectly balanced, not too romantic and gushing but there for sure. Well done and thank you! |
CaroH99 chapter 13 . 3/26/2013 Oh my! noooo this story had ended :'( well, sort off, cause we do know what happens next, but it was really enjoyable to read how you tied together the loose ends of the gaps in sandor's story after KL. again, perfet characterization of what it must be like to be inside his head, and this just made me wanna watch the trial in S3 more! if that's even possible :O i loved the way you simply wrote the reason behind sandor's actions. why he caught arya and wanted to serve under robb's banners. a beautiful pice of subtley the way you handled it, and where i am doubtful HBO will be able to match you. Congrats on this fic! |
JuliaAurelia chapter 13 . 3/26/2013 This was a a good wrap-up to the fic. I love how Sandor wants to prove himself worthy in Robb's service because it might get him a chance with Sansa. And Arya, time for your non-excellent adventures around Westeros with Sandor. |
Midnightdawn67 chapter 13 . 3/25/2013 Perfection, emmie...you tied it into the books in a very plausible way. Kudos! Of course we all know that his deepest motivation in ransoming Arya to Robb was(aside from the gold he lost) because of the Little Bird, and FOR her. I truly believe he held sone kind of notion of rescuiing her within Robb's war host, as a part of it. And maybe, maybe...as he speculates here... the best reward ever for it: Sansa Stark herself. Her loving gaze fixed on him finally..."if only". *le siiiigh* Beautiful, well done. As ever. |
Littlefeatherofhope chapter 12 . 3/24/2013 Love your characterization of Sandor, very good in canon take on him. The whole tone of this fic is great, love your details too, the sparkling sun, etc. Also, very good portrayal of his alcohol issues, it's very true he would not be able to turn down just sitting there and finishing the wine. Aw, and he's still thinking of a certain little bird...great job, and thanks for the speedy updates, you're spoiling us! |
Midnightdawn67 chapter 12 . 3/24/2013 Sleeping under a willow... Will the next thing he hears be the baying of hounds, I wonder?... As a certain Someone in the books said, how ironic that his own "kind"betrayed him! :S I am on tenterhooks. His continuing thoughts on his little bird make the heart ache. And yes, the Mother's hymn in memory of Sansa...*sniff*. I can see his face, despair and lonliness etched onto it, as he sings it. :-( |
CaroH99 chapter 12 . 3/24/2013 It really broke my heart to imagine sandor saying to himself the lyrics to the mother's hymn! :''(( |
LadyTP chapter 12 . 3/24/2013 I just love the insights into Sandor's thinking processes, and the references to how he has a strategic mind (and could have even bettered it with a proper training). Even in the canon he doesn't come up as a stupid brute, only as someone who has stopped caring and hence doesn't do more, or involve himself with the games. It is also refreshing to read about him thinking of Sansa, but not in an overly gushing way (not that I wouldn't appreciate that too, if well written). He clearly can't get her out of his head, but doesn't admit yet (if ever?) as to why that is so. Can't wait to see what happens next - is it Gregor or the Wolf King he meets... |
JuliaAurelia chapter 12 . 3/24/2013 Going to wake up to capture? He's under a willow, but it it the willow. I love how he figured out that Robb is betrayed. And how he wanted to warn him. And now will just ride north and deal with whoever he runs across first. Feel so bad for him thinking about Sansa. |
CaroH99 chapter 11 . 3/23/2013 it has indeed! you know, you're making me wonder how would a confrontation between sandor andgregor would have occured in this fic! |
