Absolutely love this story!

I'm back, again. Second reread, and still love it. Lee and Shady banter is great, and Barney being the overbearing Papa Bear of the team is hilarious. Even at 30.5k it's still a beautiful read. I can't wait to see what you come up with if you do another Expendables fic.

If Lee can't have his cake and eat it too, at least I can! This was hilarious, exciting, I'm loving Shady, and far far too short for my liking. Luckily I've got plenty where this came from ;)

I started reading Stainless Steele first but it wasn't clicking, so I decided to start at the very beginning and I'm so glad I made that call. Lee/Shady deserve each other. The banter was written well, though I do think the fic as a whole could've done with more internal thoughts so the reader can learn what Boots thinks of Lee beyond the obvious.

And kudos for typing and/or posting so fast! The Shady fics are awesome. Just a suggestion, you might want to tweak the summaries and number them so people know what the reading order is aside from looking at the dates they were posted.

I LOVED this story! I really enjoyed Shady's character and her integration in the team, I'm heading to read the sequel but thought I'd leave a review!

Let me tell you that I really liked your story, it was the only one worth reading in the entire Expensable Fanfiction site. You're fresh, catchy and simple and that is quite atractive in the reading.
I hope you keep writing about the Expensables, I know I would read anything that you write.

"My name is Barney Ross. I'm their boss" -that was a very silly move. You just can't tell the bad guys your full name.
Lee... *sigh* there are not words to describe him. Gunnar... well, I can't lie. He is one of my favourites. The third, actually, just behind of Lee and Yin.

Lee and Shady already act like a married couple when no one is around. Cute and fresh. What is going to say Lacy about that when he returns to California?

“Entones, señor Norte,” he began in spanish, “debo decirle que hay cosas sobre usted que no cuadran.” When Lee didn’t respond, the General continued, “Por ejemplo, su bella esposa. En estos días y tiempos tener una esposa que ciega y obedientemente siga su cada instrucción es algo difícil de creer.”
“Shady no obedece ciegamente. Ella ha sabido lo que soy y lo que hago desde el comienzo. Pero sabe que un movimiento en falso nos puede herir o peor.” Lee replied en rapid spanish.
“Y otra cosa… ¿ella no habla español? ¿cómo ella sobrevivirá su usted esta ” he paused for dramatic effect “… perdido?”
“Bien” Moreno continued in the foreign language, “Yo creo que la señora Norte sabe más de lo que deja ver” He made other comments about Shady […]”Creo que ella no es su esposa, sino su refuerzo”
“Entonces, déjeme ser claro, General. ¿Usted cree que mi tímida y tranquila esposa puede maiobrar armas como estas?” And he held up the gun in his hand.
“Posiblemente”

Lee turned back to his boss. “Ella estuvo en un accidente de auto. Shady trató de impedir salir disparada a través de la ventanilla y el vidrio se le incrustó en el brazo, cortando músculos y tendones. Apenas puede agarrar un lápiz, muhco menos puede jalar un gatillo.” All of this was explained in spanish.
Moreno seemed embarased, “Entonces usted ha estado diciendo la verdad”
“Sí. Hemos venido aquí para escapa de mi pasado , para vivir una vida normal como los demás,” Lee tone was resigned.
“Por supuesto, señor Norte, aparentemente estaba equivocado”
And Lee stepped up to his boss. “Y mientras mi esposa no sabe lo que usted dijo, yo sí. Le debe una disculpa”
The General adressed the mercenary in spanish, “Norte, me gustaría que se quedara cerca del recinto”
“No dejaré a Shady sola”
“No necesita hacerlo. Si lo aprueba ella podría ayudar en las cocinas. Necesito otra mano y ella es claramente una excelente cocinera. Hay una cabaña vacía afuera del recinto en donde podrían quedarse”
“No lo sé. Necesitaría discutirlo con mi esposa.”
“No esperaba menos. Me responderá cuando vuelva al recinto el lunes, ¿sí?”
“Por supuesto, jefe”

I thought you would like the real translation to Spanish.

"Now you're my wife" Okay... if you put it that way...
It would have been quite dramatic for Lacy to appear in the exact moment that Lee proposed (kinda) to Shady? Well, I don't know if dramatic but funny and weird it surely would have been...
